There are currently 3 RV areas: Lot 1/2 is grassy and has electric and water but is right next to the road and gets a fair amount of noise. Lot 3 is further back with water and electric but on a significant slope which makes leveling difficult. Lot 5 is the furthest back. It is gravel but has full hook ups. It is the furthest back from the road so is the quietest. Some of the trailers seem to be stored here and are an unoccupied but there seem to be enough occupied RVs that it does feel safe. All sites have free Wi-Fi from the fairgrounds that has decent speed.

Great place to stay near Yosemite (1hour away). We were there in late February and an excellent time to visit Yosemite to avoid the crowds (bumper to bumper traffic in season?) The front lot is grassy, quiet, with level back in sites. Not crowded only one other camper. Water and electric. Near a State Hwy, but not obnoxiously noisy, gets quiet at night. CA Mining Museum on site within yards. Very safe and pleasant camping experience. $45/night... maybe a little pricey for amenities but still worth it.

Ok for an overnight on the way to somewhere else. We stayed on the grass area, seems nicer than the other RV lots. Spaces are very close together, so might be too cozy if they were full - but we were the only ones there. Directions to various RV areas within the fairgrounds and to the dump station were confusing. And it was rather expensive $45 plus $5 for the dog. Not many options in the area.

If you are heading up to Yosemite, this is a great place to stop for the night. Only $35 with full hookups. Hot showers, clean bathrooms and flat, grassy ground. Note-if you stay in lot #1 there may be noise from the road nearby.

I checked out the reviews for other campgrounds in the Yosemite area, and a lot of them talked about uneven sites, tight turns, etc. - not what we want with a big rig. This suited us just fine! We were very happy here. Our site was level, but some of are not. Great value for the money.

Stayed April 2018. Same as other well written reviews. Parked in grassy area 1. FYI, mineral museum not open Mon-Wed. Sites are separated well

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Yosemite in late March 2018. First I must say everything was just fine at this time of year. We stayed in lot 1 and 2 which is a big grassy area next to the highway. There is electric and water but no sewer in 1 and 2. After about 8:00 the traffic noise was not bad. At this time of year there was only 3 campers in this area of the campground. I would suspect that during the high season this area would be very crowded as the individual sites are fairly close with no separation or trees. Lot 3 is on a slope and I think it would be very difficult to get level even with a lot of blocks. Lot 4 is all gravel with no grass. Lot 5 looked a little undeveloped. We did have a good stay here as it is only about an hour from the park and we basically had it to ourselves when we were here. Cost is $35 per site and and $5 per pet. When we were here lots 1 and 2 we're very clean and we'll maintained.

Was here the end of March looking for an overnight stay before heading into Yosemite. $30 for a water and electric hookup. Includes use of dump station. Looked at lots 3&4, but could not get level using my blocks. Lot 5 was remote and looked a little unsavory. Ended up in lot 1. Level and quiet despite being near highway. Had excellent Verizon signal. Good tasting water. Recommend if all you need is an overnight while traveling.

I stayed here as a solo female, in a travel trailer. It was very quiet, and quite safe. It is on the edge of a quaint little town, with lots of law-enforcement. I stopped because it is only about 30 miles from Yosemite, and has electric and water ? unlike anything in the actual park.

It was a bit spooky at first, is it is a fairground, and VERY dark. A little hard to find the entrance for the park, and the lots. I highly recommend getting there when it is still light. Good 30 amp and water. There is a dump near "lot five." Great place to see stars.

It was a bit usual for me, as all of the sites are in open lots. Three of the ones I saw (in the morning) were paved, and one was a grass "front lawn." They are enclosed with chain-link fences. There is a information kiosk when you drive into the fairgrounds. There is a map on the building, and envelopes in which you leave money.

I chose to stay in what was designated as "lot one." I picked it because it was close to the info kiosk, and had a streetlight in it. It was also where the county parks it's vehicles. The electric and water are in rows along both sides of the parking lots. You are intended to back up near them and plug-in. Being February, there was no one there, and I just parked along three of them, lengthwise.

I only saw two other vehicles all night. They pulled into the kiosk area, 50 yards away. They sat for a few minutes and left - possibly there for the cell signal, the only one for about a mile.

I spoke with a kind man in the morning (I assume, the manager). He informed me the area is very safe, and VERY busy during Yosemite's active seasons. He offered me the opportunity to drop my trailer, since I was only going into Yosemite for a day trip. (I am sure that option is not available during season.)

After coming out of the Eastern Sierras through Yosemite we looked everywhere for a place to park our truck camper in the area. Nothing was found except high priced accommodations that were not worth the money. We finally drove into Mariposa and found this wonderful fairgrounds where we could park on grass and have full hookups, what a great surprise! B.t.w. dogs were welcome.
