I only selected the one star because unfortunately they are closed indefinitely, to short term camping, however they still allow seasonal camping. The phone number on this site was “busy” when I called, so I googled the business and was able to find a number that rang through to a very nice woman who sent me a text about another facility that has a lot to offer. This is the text I received: “I'm sorry to say our campgrounds is closed indefinitely.   I currently work at State property that has campsite availability. Information can be found online at Illinois Department of Natural Resources, The World Shooting & Recreational Complex 1 Main Event Ln Sparta, IL 62286 Reservations at Reserveamerica.com If you want the Long term  monthly rate $500, you will need to call  the site super, Brad at 618-295-2732 Building 510 Mallard Ln. If he isn’t in leave a message and he will return your call. Have a wonderful stay!” She also specified that if you go to that facility “you will want the north loop or the south loop”.

Booked 3 nights and stayed 5 . Had to extend stay . For the price it was the best a campground can be . It was clean , sites are huge, view is spectacular. Owner Cheri is the best and notified me of my awning damage within hours of it happening. And was more than accommodating for our dilemma. I will happily drive out of my way to stay there again. Sprint, at&t , Verizon signals strong enough to stream . Playground 100yards away. $25 a day full hook-up w/30amp you can’t go wrong.

We loved our stay at Kaskaskia Marina Campground. This somewhat rustic, older campground is nestled between a very nice walking trail atop a levy, a city park and the Kaskaskia river. The river is beautiful, great for boating, kayaking or jet skis, with access at the marina alongside the park. We saw several people fishing from the banks in the campground and a few down by the bridge. Kids and pups will love walking or biking to the city park, which has a great playground, batting cages and several baseball and soccer fields. Our pup loved his morning walks to the park!
