Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Pioneer Campground
Road to: Good.
Road inside: Gravel. Good.
Trees: There are a few trees along the main road that need to be trimmed. If you stay in the middle of the road, you are good, but if you need to move to the side, the trees hit the rv.
Check in: Large size office.
Parking: Large size parking for rv. The odd part is you must drive to the back of the campground to reach the office, then turn back to reach your site. There is a large dip for rain runoff you must cross.
Seasonal campers: There are seasonal campers which make up about 70 percent of the campground.
Signage: Good.
Site: Back in gravel pad. Site was level but some did not. Had table and fire pit. Site is dry. Site 22 had good spacing with view of the woods.
View: Forest and other campers.
Site spacing: Most sites seem to have good spacing.
Bathhouse: Old but was clean and worked well.
Laundry room: Did not use.
Swimming pool: It was closed, but it looks very nice.
Club house: It was closed at the time.
Fitness area: No.
Restaurant: No, but a nice restaurant was just down the road.
Grounds: Well kept.
Air TV: No.
Wifi: Used our own T Mobile.
So here is the bad:
1) The one thing is most sites do not have sewer hook up but they do have a honey pot service.
Good:
1) The people are very very nice. Some of the nicest we have ever had. We would come back again. Close to the Ricketts Glen State Park.
