I called Feb. 29, 2016 for information and I was told the campground was now only open for shows, and not for general public.

This looks like a nice place to park. Close to downtown. The end of Dec 2015 park was closed because they are doing construction. Not sure how long before it reopens so call ahead. What your GPS because ours took us right thru narrow streets downtown.
