The 400 loop has several level campsites.
Numerous gunshots heard east of campground during the day and at night.
Still trashy, though. People seem to think that throwing their trash into a fire ring is good enough. Such irresponsible, entitled losers.
Having said all that, I would still consider camping here again.

OMG - what a find!! Absolutely gorgeous and serene forest camping. Amazing stars at night! Perfect temps in the middle of July.
Only reason for the 4 stars is that there are some rough spots and rocks to watch out for. But overall a very well maintained Forest Road.

The following descriptions of this camp ground are accurate. It’s off of Highway 89A but you do not hear the traffic. There were plenty of sites available when we arrived each having their own fire ring. But trash is a real problem! It’s sad to see people leaving trash behind when they’ve come to enjoy beautiful scenery.

Beautiful area. But of a clarification from other reviews. There are 4 camping areas down this dirt road totaling about 70 sites. Each site is numbered and marked. The 400 loop at plenty of flat sites and several pull through sites. Road is rough. Go slow:). We camped one night in a class b camper van. Our site was perfectly level. Only one other camper in our loop. Quiet. Shady. Good dispersed camping.

Awesome awesome area for some dispersed camping. We took our trailer out there last winter. All sites are self contained they're no camp host here. Please please clean up after yourselves! One thing we seen was a lot of trash left by campers. Just because no one is around to enforce the rules doesn't mean you need to take advantage. Over all very good spot we'll be coming back very soon

Stayed here over the Christmas holiday for three nights. Only ones around at one of the four dispersed camp sites. Saw about five cars/bikes pass by the entire time. Found one that was relatively level with a nice fire ring. Some good hiking through some of the nearby valleys and a quick trip south to Sedona and the surrounding areas. A little chilly at night but the days were beautiful.

More than a 100 numbered sites with fire rings. Most are uneven. Must be self contained or bring a shovel.
