A kayakers delight. Great fishing for brim and chain pickerel. Kayak launch located in campground if you do not mind adding some scratches to your kayak. The river is truest beautiful. No toilets or potable water. It access to the river for filtering. Four sites plus disperse where you like. Super easy going. I ran into three other guys living out of their van/car/trailer and we all swapped stories and social media. What a gem!!

Rustic, boondock for the adventurer
Davenport Landing
From FL Highway 19 is was 3 miles west on Forest Road 74 not Forest Road 77. (77 goes East...74 goes west). The GPS coordinates are to the sign where you turn off on the campground drive way. The day we traveled, was after several days of rain and the road was full of potholes and deep ruts. We were glad we had 4-wheel drive but luckily didn’t need it. Apparently there is a historic site including Indian mounds approximately 1/4 mile hike from a parking area just prior to entering the camp area. The campsites are dispersed mostly in shade. There was only one person camping when we arrived. One other couple just enjoying the nice weather.
A very short hike takes you down some stairs to a river and a swimming hole complete with rope swing! It also appears that people fish there. No toilet, tables, or potable water. If you like it rustic, you will love it.
