Mar 2022: Overnight parking is not allowed, but there are about 10 RV parking spots available to park from 8A-8P for $20. It is right in the middle of Savannah so it is the perfect spot for exploring the city. We also ran our generator since it was a hot day with no problem.

Update on Visitor Center Parking Lot: Parked in this lot on Oct 15, 2020. The payment kiosk allows you to purchase parking up through 8pm. The sign says no overnight parking but does not say when you have to vacate the parking lot. I called the Visitor Center (912-944-0455) to clarify when I had to vacate the lot because I need a place so we could eat dinner in the city. They told me that you can only park there up till 6:30pm but suggested I call the city parking folks. I called them (912-651-6470). The woman there said that you could only park there up through 6pm. If you remained after that, you would get a citation but they don’t tow. So…the sign at the lot and the parking kiosk info conflicts with the information the city people I spoke with. In my onion, the sign/kisok rules. I needed a place to park past 8pm. I ended up parking on Bay Street (parallels River Street). The meters run through 8pm; parking after 8pm is free. I was able to fit my 21’ Promaster within the space allotted.

confirming, No Parking past 6:30PM
I'm staying in a hotel nearby but walked over this evening to confirm reports, since I saw an RV pulling in the lot after hours from my hotel window.
Signs clearly posted as previously reported
and I'll add that the signs say any vehicle there after 6:30 will be ticketed. There were two cars I saw in the lot with what looked like tickets in the wipers. One enclosed utility type trailer unhitched in an RV lot. I didn't think to look to see if it was ticketed. The class C I saw pulling in looked to likely be parked just for a stroll into town for dinner.
I ran into a local couple walking by as I was leaving and they asked me about the lot. They didn't know about the new rule. We discussed because they were upset that the lot was sitting empty while parking was so hard to find in town, and said that she would be contacting them to complain. They were RV'ers too. I commented that it's a shame because RV'ers would like to be able to visit the city for day and 1 night overnight trips. We both speculated that it was likely bad apples staying too long, dropping trash, or worse....
Apparently no other RV parking in town for dinner or overnight.

NO OVERNIGHT PARKING This site has dedicated RV parking but no longer allows overnight parking. You can park during the day for a flat rate of $20, but the lot closes at 6:30 pm. There is a very clear sign and it was confirmed by the Visitor Center staff.

We are so disappointed! We just arrived hoping to park here for the night and were informed that all overnight parking at this center is now prohibited. Had to leave Savanah area so just kept on going. Please update the Allstays information so rvers will be aware of this change in the city's policy. Super disappointing!

Municipal parking lot at edge of historic area. No services. Safe but brightly lit. Busy during the day, quiet at night (closes exc for RVs with pass in window). Walk or bus easily all over; easiest way to see Savannah. $14 for 2 day pass; unlimited renewals. They ask: "Will you fit in one parking space" (we-truck camper 19'=yes)? Some here are a bit longer. Stayed 3 weeks last time, 2 weeks this time. Go to "The Distillery" across the street for good craft beer (100s) and food.

Called before to confirm there was overnight parking. Didn't really worry about it because my tow vehicle and trailer nose to tail are 35 feet and fit in a double parking space so I never have length problems if parking is allowed. Got there and found 15 back-in RV spaces that are about 25 feet long and a couple feet wider than a normal parking space. Can you park in a double parking space instead? No one knows. In particular a male employee was endlessly snarky and just a jerk. "Well just park there and see if it gets towed." Um, no. I ended up telling him I was done talking to him and tried talking to someone else, but no one knew anything. Also, they said I didn't needed an overnight pass because it was Sunday, which wasn't true because overnight Sunday ends in... Monday.

Went outside and talked to fellow rv'ers and decided to drop my trailer in an rv space and put my car in a car space and then insisted they sell me an overnight pass for each. But didn't know if that was okay either for sure and was just uncomfortable the whole time, plus having to deal with the jerk just soured the whole experience. It seems like there's a war between the visitor center staff and the parking staff and the rv people are stuck in the middle.

I would only park there if I were in an rv of 25 feet or less and could use a marked rv spot. And I would go in and insist on a parking pass.

It is a great location. I went to an awesome restaurant for dinner that was only a five minute walk away, and all the museums are around the parking lot.

Do not attempt this parking lot. Called three different people. One said come on over and go in visitors center for overnight pass. The parking authority said no overnight parking and they will ticket you. We went there and left. Never got to see Savannah as there is no parking for a truck and 30 foot airstream

The best in city site we have seen so far. Walking to everything. Very convenient. We end up staying here a few days more than planned. Savannah is a very lovely city.

Outstanding. VERY user friendly. Got the tree late, no problem. OK to unhook the trailer to sightsee. Can't beat the $8 per night price.
