This place was a hidden gem. I was nervous parking the travel trailer in the sand but it was fine. Each spot has a fire pit. Really kid friendly with a playground next to the RV park on the beach. The little store has beer, sand toys and things you might have forgotten. The cantina food was good and drinks decent. The kids cove was perfect for littles a good walk from the RV park but do able with the wagon. Commissary is 7 mins away. There are parking spaces available if you get here way before check-in like we did.

So far, we have stayed here four times and really enjoyed the place… Twice on beach row, once on second row, and once on the hardball (third row). The only major downfall I have with the site is Internet… Which sucks big time! However, I resolved that with my TravlFi network, so no more issues there! One thing they need to improve on is notifying campers of the pet fees in advance… I did not find out until it was time to leave when they asked if I had a pet. Another thing is if you rent a spot, you should be able to place at least one tent on it at no extra cost. Overall, it is a very nice site to stay at, and I look forward to it in the oncoming months! :)

This RV park has horrible business practices and is not great for dogs. First, during booking it is not mentioned that they have a 31 day and 14 day timeline to cancel. 31 days from check in: full refund. 30-14 days: one night charge and remaining refunded. No refund within the 14 day window. Secondly, there is no mention about a pet fee during booking either. Nor is it mentioned that dogs/pets are only allowed within the RV park and not allowed to leave the park. Lastly, the bathrooms and showers are inside/outside. Meaning in the winter time it is cold and there is no heater source. I will not return nor do I recommend. Not worth the price. I would rather pay more for better accommodations.

Very nice campsite for my Travel Trailer! Had no problem parking my trailer on beachfront spot! Only downside is free WiFi is terrible! I would suggest they upgrade it like the one at San Onofre which you rent daily but worth it! I highly recommend this place. One more thing, if you have dogs, follow the rules and keep them on the leash and clean up behind them!

I stayed at a beach cottage. It’s literally right on the beach. The cottage itself was ok. Not as well appointed as Air Force facilities, but still comfortable. The bathroom was modern with a huge shower. The kitchen was minimal and there were no cleaning supplies even though you are required to clean up after yourself. The bedroom was large, but the bed was very hard. Four stars for a fantastic location. The base itself is very nice with many more earring options than you find at a normal military base. Also, it’s located within minutes of the Oceanside Marina which had many nice restaurants

We stayed here September 18 - 20, 2021. We loved it. It is definitely a beach campground. The sites aren’t terribly large, but the ocean is the prime reason for being there. The toilets and showers are beach style, but much cleaner than most. We even had a convoy of tanks come rolling through on our last morning on their way to beach maneuvers. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is because of the terrible reservation system. My husband spent hours trying to get through and then on hold. Once we got there, the service was great. We do want to return.

My friend and I camped for five days, the week before Easter. We were on the second row, site 42 & 43. I have a 5er TH 29’. I pulled head first so I could drop the back end of my TH to enjoy the beach and ocean. On shore breeze in the day and it would switch during the evening, no issues of fire pit smoke. The best spot is row one, maybe next time. Kudos for the Marines for keeping their RV open, the Navy RV camps are not open b/c of “covid.” Kids playground and beach is open. We will be back again.

We stayed here last month for a week and loved it, can’t wait to come back next winter. Our spot was on the third row so we were on the asphalt but only a few feet from the beach. A little less sand to deal with since we have a dog. The RV park is an easy walk to a little PX/BX shopping area. Included a nice little coffee shop and clean laundromat and a sub shop. It was fun to watch the Marines “elephant walk” their amphibious tanks through the RV park in the mornings on their way to the exercise areas. Rows 4 & 5 seem to be for the more long term RVers.
