One of our favorite campgrounds simply for the amazing panoramic views. You are literally perched on a hillside overlooking the incredible valley to the west. The sunsets are worth the price of camping here. You are treated to the “Islands in the Sky” rock formations with the sunset behind. Spectacular. It is a small, beautifully maintained capground with huge well-spaced sites that are easy to get in/out. Bring some leveling blocks as most sites have some sort of slope.

Site 17, $18, stayed March 2021. Spectacular campground . Protect your engine bay from packrats. Bring a flashlight with a strobe function for overnight. I’ll be back.

Wonderful state park with incredible views and spacious sites. You’ll be in awe of the panoramic mountains when you wake up!! Make sure to take a trail and find some jasper; it’s everywhere!!

I can’t say enough great things about this place. We had no reservations, so we were escorted to a beautiful level private site up the hill. Super friendly camp hosts, clean restrooms with showers (could have been a little warmer but at least it doesn’t require quarters), good Verizon signal, nice trails. If you need electricity, make a reservation. Otherwise try to get in a couple hours before sunset.

A beautiful park with wide open views of the surrounding mountains. The park has wide roads and easy to back in camping spots for your trailer or coach. Water and electricity but no sewer but the dump station was easy to get to and use.
My wife and I hiked the simple trails surrounding the park and were delighted with the views. We would have stayed longer and will keep this park as a favorite in future travels.
The only challenge was our lot was quite uneven from back-to-front of our trailer which made our trailer tongue extend quite a bit. Highly recommend this park!

I spent two nights here, and would have stayed longer, all of the electric sites were reserved.
This is a small but very nice well maintained park with great showers, fairly level sites, and covered picnic tables. The views are spectacular, and the is a very nice hiking trail with varied desert plants and animals all along the trail. If you are a rockhound, this is one of the few places that actually allow you to take rocks with you when you leave. (15# limit) it is just a short drive to Deming.

Large sites, well maintained, nice museum friendly staff, hiking trails, electric and water sites a bit hard to get without reservations. Nice non-electric also. New restrooms.

Other reviewers are so right on. Campground is immaculate and campsites huge and include covered tables. Surrounding desert is absolutely beautiful. Close to paradise!
