Great place if you are buddies with the manager.
Camp has many desirable features, which is why it’s so popular. Two week wait to get hooked up is unfortunate reality not the fault of a friendly staff.
However, it seems that some are treated better than the rest of us. One couple was allowed to pull up next to a building and use the outlet and hydrant even though no spot existed prior. I guess it’s nice to be friends with the manager. I also noticed that several long term campers had the exact same sites as a year ago. Pretty hard to do if the rules are actually followed for everyone.
The facility s bringing in enough money to at least supply electricity to the dry campers. Seems like providing cable tv would not be too much to ask, given that it’s pretty common in other military camps. And the WiFi seems to be made to be frustrating, getting kicked off every couple hours or sooner.
Fresh ground coffee is nice touch. The ice machine in the lobby is loud, so you have to turn up the volume on the tv if you want to watch.

Huge well-marked FamCamp with roomy spaces.Large overflow area (no hook-ups) for $11 a night while waiting for a FHU site. Friendly office staff gives out a call-number and vacant FHU sites are given out at 11 every morning by number. Three-month non-refundable contracts are available for longer stays. Military dining facility available to retirees on weekend, but food quality is so-so. Big-rig propane fill available behind base gas station. Best AF base we’ve ever been on! i is

Among the best RV (FamCamps) we’ve stayed at. Friendly helpful staff ready to provide information for the airbase and surrounding area. Clean level pads, easy hookups, easy pull through sites, pet friendly area, quiet traffic (even with aircraft). Base facilities near by, and plenty of shopping areas near the base. Excellent WIFI, and easy to connect. Very reasonable daily rates for the quality of this RV park. Easy big rig access in and out of base. Be careful with GPS directions, it might lead you to a wrong gate (since some gates close at 1800 hrs or weekends).
Highly recommend this park

Full hookup and pull-through sites, though we recommend disconnecting first due to the curbs. Super friendly and helpful staff, trying to get us a bit of shade in the awful Sept heat!
Ask to park AWAY from the Wilmot Gate. This will eliminate noise from gate traffic and thumping over road barriers.
We stayed here in HOT September in a 34’ MH with a toad.

Great Fam Camp. Probably the neatest and most organized Fam Camp we have stayed in. 50 Amp FHU with great cell service (V, ATT, TMob) Trip to top of Mt Lemon a must. For those wanting to visit the boneyard, you must now apply 10 days in advance with the Pima Air Museum to get in. No exceptions regardless of the type ID card you have!

Aside from windy days and fine dust accumulations, this is a very nice campground. We are alongside of the Bone Yard and in a mostly quiet spot. Level gravel pads with full hookups. Nice to see A-10's (Brrtt) flying overhead. Just across the street is the laundry facility. All in all I rate this a 10!

This is by far the best military camp ground we have stayed at on our journey. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and the place was very clean and roomy. We actually arrived at the perfect time around noon and got to go right to a full hookup spot because they draw names at 11 am for people in the overflow spots to move to full hookup. The base was easy to get around on and navigation helped us get around Tucson. I highly recommend this famcamp if you are in the Tucson area.

Really a great place to stay, very clean and neat with laundromat and dog wash. Beautifully landscaped.

This is a great Fam Camp. But. The policy of allowing 3 month stays has resulted in extended periods of stay in overflow until a full hookup site is available- 4, 5 nights or longer. Example - 41 on the wait list last night with only 2 sites available. Those who sign up for 3 months for the winter love the policy. Those staying for shorter periods find the longer wait in overflow frustrating. The 21 day policy should be reinstated for all except for special circumstances. Bottom line - Davis Monthin Fam Camp is rapidly becoming a trailer park.
