Very nice campground. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset over the Banana River every night of our stay. Park is clean, quiet & camp hosts were kind & professional. Easy to get to everything & loved the air activity of being on an AFB. Full hook-ups are ALWAYS nice! Expect to follow the rules. We motorcycle & bike so helmets are a must. It was a little bit confusing because we had our cycle in a small trailer that takes up less room than a car but had to off load cycle & take the trailer across base to the marina even though there were two other trailers at Chevron Park & car dollies in the Park. It was a hassle to drive into the marina with a 40' RV. There is plenty of space by the park so it would be really nice if they would make a spot for ALL trailers nearby. Trailer policy needs to be clarified - either good for all or good for none. Otherwise this was a wonderful place to camp. Even though my husband impressed everyone at the main gates with his driving skills I highly recommend you go to the truck gate which really isn't marked all that well & your GPS won't take you to it, call the campground & get instructions on where to come in - you'll be glad you did!

The campground is very clean and well laid out. Each site is on a concrete slab and has a colorful patio set. All hookups worked fine. There is a rec room and lots of books to choose from. A laundry room has 5 washers and 6 dryers that were all working. This is a popular snowbird retreat but since we were here in the off season, about 3/4's of the campground was empty. There was no wifi at the campsite. The mosquitos were ferocious and the grass needed cutting.

Manatee Cove is a great place for snowbirds, and the management knows it. The price reflects the location. I would highly recommend this place if it offered WIFI throughout and cable. The price is too high otherwise. Campers often requested the water sites, however now they want off, due to price, not paved and the wind. The laundry area is now too small to accommodate the number of snowbirds.

Review of Patrick AFB FamCamp, Melbourne, FL. Just opened 30+ new sites, concrete pads on those and they are pull thru. All sites now have full hookups. Older sites on the Banana River are gravel & grass and mostly back-in, which we loved just for the view. Only 5 washers & 5 dryers in the laundry room, 75 cents. Did not use the showers or restroom. At the marina we watched 5 manatees for an hour, and were told a 6 foot gator lives on the golf course. Great Tiki Bar at the marina and nice dining hall for breakfast. $30 night for sites on Banana River. Enter the commercial truck gate on A1A just south of the main entrance. We would definitely stay here again. October 2016.

A lovely park, and in the process of adding more full hookup sites. We paid $30 a night for a premium, full hook up, back in site on the river. 35' MH with tow car. Lots of mosquitoes and a thunderstorm every afternoon, to be expected in Florida. However, the GPS instructions took us to the main gate. RVs need to go on the commercial truck gate, located about 1/2 mile south of the main gate. Laundry room has 5 washers, 5 dryers. Did not use bath-house.

After reading other reviews I hesitated about coming here, but I am happy I did!
True, the tent area is a little crowded, but the location is great, and the clubhouse is first rate with air conditioning, a big tv and easy chairs to sit in. There is also a complete kitchen in the clubhouse. The roads are paved, and the Rv sites for the most part are nice with hookups at all of them.
I camp at BLM and national parks a lot so I might be easier to please.
I really can't find any serious faults with this campground!!

One of the worst tent campgrounds on the planet!!! No water, no electricity, no space ( tent areas on top of each other), next to the runway ( you get no sleep at all due to flights taking off or aircraft hooked to their generators), nasty, filthy bathhouse and most importantly cost is $10 for a small, small pice of dirk to put up your tent... This is the first military sight we had no water or no water and elec. the only thing in abundance was mosquitoes .... Oh, and laundry was .75 wash/dry.

Really nice place to stay. This is our 5th visit since Oct 2013. We were lucky to get a full hook-up on the river after one day one the wait list. The biggest hassle for people is registration. The campground office is being remodeled so the temporary registration office is at the Outdoor Recreation center about 1 1/2 miles away. It's not a big deal but a minor inconvince if you miss the little sign ( which is easy to do) that directs you there first. The new office in the campground should be open soon.

They have one bath house that has 4 showers in each side. This also houses the laundrymat. Rember to bring your paperback books to swap in the little make shift library. There is an excellent walking trail that follows the river all the way to the other side of the base. It's about a five mile hike. Retirees are allowed to eat in the base dining hall now. This is also located on the river so you could be dining while watching the dolphins play. There is plenty to do in the area so your time will fly by.

Very nice place to stay. Courteous and helpful personel , big rig accessible laundry and day room this is there hotspot for Internet access. Unfortunately the only place on site for Internet. No pool however beaches nearby. Also no cable but you can pick up Right at 20 channels With digital antenna. Beautiful scenery and very clean. This is definitely a place I would feel proud to suggest. Good job and thank you to the team at Patrick Air Force. We are good Sam elite members and pull travel trailer.
