Rockhound State Park

Stopped to camp no showers under construction had to move on. Should post on state site.

For cost and facilities this is hard to beat. Well, once they get the new baths in place. They were under construction. A temporary setup was there to get by until the new ones are in. The Rock Hound trail up the mountain was a nice hike. I think you'd want to spend some days there if you are eager to find good rocks and get up the mountain off the trail some. Great views up there. Resful location. Quiet and picturesque. Go for it.

Pretty nice park. Unpaved but not unpleasantly so. Seems a little haphazard in layout but we soon figured it out. They didn't actually have a camp space for us but put us in one of the group-area sites. Bathrooms ok but no hot water except in the shower. Short hike in the park but no time for us to go.
