For Discovery Campground: We were looking for a place to stay in the general area that would be a bit out of town. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a Saturday night in early August. This is a nice CG with beautiful views of Cook Inlet and Mount Spurr. There are 53 sites arrayed in a loop. Most sites are relatively large and private. Some are more shady than others. Most are back ins with gravel/dirt parking spots and grassy areas with picnic tables. Most need some leveling. Some sites have views of Cook Inlet through the trees. The sites are primitive (no hookups). There's a pump with water with a boil water notice, no threaded hose for filling RVs. There's a dumpster for trash. There's no dump station. There are 2 free dump stations in Kenai and 2 in Soldotna. There's good ATT coverage and no Verizon coverage. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Saturday and were able to get a site. The CG was mostly and not completely full overnight. The rocky beach is a short walk away. There are several trails in the CG to the top of the bluff. There's also an interpretive trail in the CG.

Steve

For Discovery Campground: An absolute amazing place. Everything is well cared for and the sites are large, private and quiet. They were also level. A short walk gives you a view of Cook Inlet which is spectacular with the mountains and volcano in the background. There is also a short trail that takes you to the rocky beach. We were here in early September and a few were fishing at the creek outside the campground.

For Discovery Campground: Stayed here late May 2018 Spaces are well separated and fairly level. Sits on a bluff overlooking Cooks inlet. View is unbelievable well worth the trip
