Not big rig friendly. Narrow roads and tight turns getting there. Too many trees and muddy in campground.

I was first rv to park at brookside campgrounds addition. 5 50 amp pull through. I needed 30 amp survice I could not find my adapter. Robert found me a loner. He also hooked me to water by teeing of another campsite. Beautiful park free wifi . Robert told me they had a swimming hole on the creek. Lol

Stayed for one night while we attended a function in downtown Birmingham. Needed a place where I could drop my 40ft 5th wheel. Road & gate in are narrow, requiring much caution on entry. Robert directed me to a spot where I could get 15A service (via extension cord & water. When the 15A service didn't work, he used an adapter to plug the 15A cord into a 50A receptacle. Tried to make sure we didn't use anything that would put more than 15A draw on the line, but when we pulled up stakes, I found my adapter had melted into the extension cord. Greenway park nearby is nice for a walk. For $20 it was ok for dropping the trailer. Can't see myself staying multiple nights here & if just passing through I would boondock someplace else. News reports raise questions about pretext stops by the police force in Brookside (https://www.al.com/news/2022/01/police-in-this-tiny-alabama-town-suck-drivers-into-legal-black-hole.html)

Stayed here on a one night stop over, really can’t beat it for $20, full hook up and WiFi. Called as I got off highway and was told Robert would meet me at the campground and show me to my site, he was waiting when I arrived and took me to a nice pull though 30 amp site along the ball field fence. Many of the units are permanent residents but everyone was neat and clean. It is a rural city park, the roads inside were gravel and the site was mostly grass. Would definitely stay again.

Love this little place! We parked our 36’ Forza in site 12. 30 amp, H2O, sewer. $20. What a deal! Trees and grass. There are several permanents, but everything is clean. There are no showers or restrooms, but we are self-contained. We have a small dog and there is plenty of beautiful park like area for exercising. The mayor stopped by to pick up the fee and share local information. What a nice little treasure.

This rating is based upon the overall value. This is probably a three-star campground, but given the limited options around Birmingham and the price, it’s a great value. The campground has lots of trees and we had no problems with any of the hook ups. Most of the campers are very long-term folks who are living there, but are friendly and quiet. It’s about a 20-minute drive to Birmingham and a great jumping off point for touring the area. Be sure to see the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum!

We were on a trip in our 37' Class A with toad and stayed only one night. This is a cool little off (but not too far off) the beaten path city park with full hookups. Gravel surfaces only so if it's been raining you might get a little mud on the tires, but the city is looking at adding gravel or just going to asphalt. You call the Mayor of Brookside for a reservation and he answers the phone with hello?. Gotta love the small town South. Very reasonable daily fee.

I would have liked to give this park a better review. The mayor, Roger, was very nice and helped set us up on a nice looking site. After leveling our 35 foot 5th wheel, and putting out the slides and getting everything hooked up, my surge suppressor started shutting down because of low-voltage. It was 95 degrees outside. Three times my search suppressor shut off because of voltage as low as 105 volts. The mayor was very understanding and refunded us our $20 fee and wished us well. He did offer us the opportunity to try other spots, but as all spots available were all 30 amp, we decided to head further west.
