For Gunter Hill: Staying in Catoma Creek loop. Excellent! Site 30 pullthrough, complete hookups, clean picnic table, firepit, barbecue, lamp post with metal tray attached, view of the lake through a few trees, overlook deck with benches nearby, sites are huge, large wooded areas between. Most sites are partly shaded. Volunteers keep it all clean, they told me the older section's sites are a bit smaller, but with much more shade. That loop, Antioch, has the boat ramp. Staff at checkin is very nice and helpful. Here only one night, am delighted to have discovered this peaceful beautiful place.

For Gunter Hill: Great campsites with full hookups. Lake has trashy shoreline. Campground otherwise well kept.

For Gunter Hill: The newly constructed area is fantastic. It has everything ... huge paved pads, seclusion, woods, water views, excellent restrooms and private showers. Every site has full hook-ups in this new section. Our site (#36) was so long that we felt like we had our own highway out to the park loop road. The 50 amp electric was stable, and the water pressure held at 46psi. I did not need to connect a water softener because the water did not register high mineralization on my test kit. We will definitely stay here again. There is ample tourist type stuff to do in Montgomery, but we loved Prattville (17 miles away) for shopping and getting free WiFi at the library. Hint: use Mitchell Young road off of US-80 to get to Old Selma Rd as a better route to replace the Corps of Engineer driving directions. Check it out on Google Earth. This road is much wider and safer for big rigs.
