For Canyon Vista Campground: Outstanding small campground. Hosts were great. Location excellent. Only two cons; just drinking water available from huge tank that is trucked in no RV water (Fry’s in Flagstaff has free RV fill spigot at their gas station, thanks to the camp host for that bit of info) and they close for the season too early. There are many more fine autumn camping days left but they shut it down mid-October.

For Canyon Vista Campground: We had a wonderful stay at Canyon Vista Campground. It's remarkably close to the city, Flagstaff, but tucked away in the forest, it feels remote. We went in June 2019, and it wasn't crowded at all. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. They came by and checked that we had everything we needed and offered us water. They gave us a general idea of the campground. They had installed little motion sensor lights in the bathroom, so you don't have to fumble with phones or flashlights to use the loo. They have a box of reading materials, books, maps, etc. like a little free library set up. They had 5 wonderful dogs, all leashed, controlled and super friendly and adorable. A few are trained therapy dogs, just wonderful sweet, quiet dogs. It was so clear to me that the hosts really took pride in making sure their guests had a good experience at the campground. I don't think I've ever stayed at a campground where the hosts went so out of their way to make sure I felt at home. I highly recommend this campground to travelers, or locals who just want a chance of scenery, just minutes from the city!

For Canyon Vista Campground: Small national forest campground located within 7 miles of downtown Flagstaff. It’s a Small Campground with 11 camping campsites . Most are big enough to accommodate large motor homes and fifth wheels. No hooks ups, no dump. Does have vault toilets. Plenty of peace and quite, open camp sites with tall pines. The campground overlooks Sandy Canyon with incredible views. Hiking and climbing is right outside your door. The Sandy Canyon Trial is adjacent to the park, which eventually connects to the Arizona trail. The campground is extremely well kept by two very pleasant camp hosts. I have be coming here for over 10 years (a 2 hour drive from Phoenix). Currently, I have a 35 foot fifth wheel
