For Picacho Peak State Park: Large paved well separated sites with 50A service. Very nice and clean bathrooms with showers. Traffic noise from I-10 is constant, however, and trains are frequent. The noise and lack of water, even at the dump station, makes this a three star park.

For Picacho Peak State Park: Terrific place. Hot mid September, and little annoying bugs, but beautiful desert setting. No water at sites, but every site gas electric, so we were able to run the A/C. Showers free and clean as a whistle. Will definitely return in spring to enjoy the hiking trails.

For Picacho Peak State Park: Don’t let the proximity to I 10 affect your decision to stay here. Traffic and railroad (as referenced by (Alaskan & 2 labr) 2018 review, are many miles away, partially blocked by some hills. And although the interstate is in view, the desert landscape sprinkled with saguaros (similar to the size & # of the Saguaro Nat’l Park), did not disturb a very restful night. There was no water, but the campsites were generous in size, gravel trails along the park roads, leading to Picacho Peak trailhead were nice to run/walk on. RV dump available. Didn’t use porta-potties or “shower” building. Staff extremely welcoming and nice. FYI FYI Our GPS tried to directed us to the frontage road & to other TV park instead of straight to the State Park. Would have been 5 stars if water was available.

For Picacho Peak State Park: So wonderful to wake up (in travel trailer) with cactus and open areas with mountain views! Clean restrooms with hot water available for the showers that are a nice size. No water for individual sites available due to it being a DESERT. Husband enjoyed the challenging footpaths to head up mountain. Pleasant and knowledgeable rangers and help. Yes, you cab hear hwy 10 traffic but we just didn't mind. Again, spacious sites with such a wonderful view!

For Picacho Peak State Park: Picacho Peak State Park is named for a pinnacle that reaches an extra 1,500 feet above the campground. It is just off I-10 northwest of Tucson and southeast of Phoenix. You can’t miss it because the famous peak and similar mountains are right there. All campsites have views of the mountains, and the park offers generous space between individual sites. There are numerous hiking trails. Because it is so close there is a faint hum of traffic from the freeway. And, other sounds carry well as another camper proved to many of us who heard his music. The park offered electricity and a dump station when we were there. Because there was a drought we had to fill up the water tank before we arrived. Due to its prime location near the freeway, the park works well as an overnight stop on the way to other destinations.

For Picacho Peak State Park: This is one of my favorites of any where. Great views and you are camping in the midst the saguaros. I don’t think the national park is any better. At the end of February the weather was incredible and the area was green. Electric only but well maintained dump stations. I would drive just to stay here.

For Picacho Peak State Park: This part is a great hidden spot .. very well maintained, spacious sites, reliable power ( 110, 30 amp, 50 amp connections ) .. we stopped around 7PM ..after a long drive from Flagstaff via Sedona ..got early enough to catch sun set. Highly recommended .. at this time of the year (Aug) .. completely empty .. yes, it can be hot when sun is up ...on cool down very quick as soon as sun is down.
