For Desert Trails RV Park: For some reason there has not been a review posted in a year. This is an eclectic park with great visitors who stay from a few days to 6 months. Many are returning for years. The location is fantastic, close to Tucson but far enough away to miss the noise and hassle of the city. Right next to Tucson Mountain Park and it’s beautiful desert trails. However, the current owners (company) have a tight control over the investments and sadly it shows. Much of the park is in fair to poor condition. They have a “swimming pool” which looks to have zero maintenance in years. The asphalt roads have many potholes and the gravel sites have not seen much needed attention. Rather than hiring professionals to provide the needed work they use work campers who are great but overwhelmed. There are two onsite employees who manage the park, Jesse is awesome, friendly and does a great job with the limitations placed on them by the company. The other person in the office is to be avoided at all costs. He is rude, exhibits strong negative body language and is just unhappy and difficult to work with. Unless there is a change in attitude of the owners and at least one of the managers I have to offer caution. Also make sure your fresh water tank is full, odds are extremely high they turn off the water because their antiquated piping systems fail regularly.

For Desert Trails RV Park: I spent 6 winters in this park. New owners took over April 2021. Immediately rates were raised high, demolition of park hardscape was conducted spring/summer of 2021 with promises of redesign. Didnt happen and it looks like a war zone still (summer 2022). WiFi was removed with promises of new/better WiFi, didnt happen. Rates are going up again in Jan 2023. The pool is in terrible condition and the owners wont buy new furniture (as of summer 2022) to replace the old moldy/broken furniture there. Nothing has been improved and the park looks unkempt and shabby. Campers have to do their own site maintenance. Former activities have been shut down unless campers want to take responsibility. There is no permanent staff, only a few work campers that work about 3 hours a day. The one employee/manager works hard but cant keep up. The new owners have destroyed the park. Most long-timers like myself are fleeing in DROVES. Dont come here unless you want to pay a lot and get nothing. Positive point: easy access to desert biking/hiking.

For Desert Trails RV Park: Cannot understand why this place is getting 5 stars, the place looks old and tired, small pool and in the center of the park is an abondoned water park with tube slides that looks like it was not used for 50 years, an eyesore. At some sites if you extend your canopy you almost touch your neighbor.

For Desert Trails RV Park: Great RV park. The owners are really dialed in to what us “Snowbirds” like. We were here for 6 days and are returning next year for 3 months. This park is clean, very pet friendly, and have lots of activities to keep you busy.

For Desert Trails RV Park: Fantastic campground! We spent 10 days in March 2019. Owner/staff are top-notch...friendly and helpful. Good live music several times per week. The trails are fantastic for biking, hiking, running. One of the best campgrounds we’ve stayed in (after full-timing for 1-1/2 years)

For Desert Trails RV Park: Stayed for almost 3 months at this RV park. I'm 43 and it's one of the only parks in Tucson that takes under 55 yrs of age. This park was a pleasant surprise with all of the social activities: almost any craft you can think of, hiking, biking, birding and photography groups. They have food trucks come twice a week and live music a few times a week and may I add VERY VERY good live performances. I could go on and on about the activities at this place.

The owner is fabulous and very kind. The park is a little overcrowded with RV's and spots are tight.
Restrooms are clean and showers are warm. The grounds are very clean.

There are AMAZING DESERT TRAILS behind the park. This was my favorite and the trails were the most beautiful desert I saw in all of Tucson. It's right next to Tucson mountain park and West Saguaro NP but for going into the heart of town it can take 40-50 mins easily. Basic grocery shopping is about 20 mins away.
You won't be bored here and you surely need to check this place out but be warned they book up fast from Nov to April because people have been returning/reserving spots for many many years and I can see why. This park is a gem!

For Desert Trails RV Park: Very nice campground, although a bit crowded with small campsites, the beautiful pristine desert hiking trails right in the back of the campground make up for it all. we camped here in our 40 foot motorhome, definitely would come back. Very friendly people.
