For Rest Stop: March 2021: Prominently posted “4 Hour Stay Limit” for several months now. The 4-hr stay limit signs are very prevalent and the limit IS ENFORCED by State Parks rangers, who drive through the two parking lots every few hours daily. Do not park in the usually little used lot near the rv dump and expect to stay the night. The Parks rangers consistently ask drivers to leave if they have overstayed the limit, regardless of type of vehicle or where parked. Their interactions are neither friendly or unfriendly, simply firm and nonnegotiable. The rest room bldg is only open for very limited daytime hours, usually from 10AM to 4PM, but this can vary from week to week. Sometimes the rest rooms are closed for several days at a time, if there have been extremely heavy rains for several days in a row. This seems to be caused by something going wrong with the facility’s water and/or sewage systems due to flooding. THE RV DUMP IS ALSO CLOSED AT THOSE TIMES. These closures are infrequent and usually only during the winter, but are inconvenient for RVers who intend to use the rv dump. The State doesn’t publish any closure notifications for the site on their Parks or Dept Of Transportation webpages for this site.
