Rest Stop

We often camp at Memaloose State Park. This is just a warning that the rest areas at Memaloose are closed in both directions. However, there is still access to the state park.

The fairly small number of commercial truck spaces are often fully occupied here by the evening hours. So the commercial trucks often park lengthwise in the equally small number of automobile spaces, each truck/trailer rig using several auto spaces. So if you are planning to use this rest area as an overnight stop (Oregon allows an 8-hour stay), be prepared with an alternate location in mind. The entire rest area being quite small, the almost continuous noise of the commercial trucks makes a quiet restful stay difficult at best.
