For Limekiln State Park: We really liked it here. The sites down at the beach were a little close together but the place was not full, so no big deal. The shower was quite hot and a good amount of time. The trail up to the kilns is lovely. We did not get to do the one to the waterfall due to high water. Big storm while we were there. The wind was making a lot of noise and the surf was pounding in. The morning brought several tent campers who had retreated to their cars but the high surf was amazing to see. Everyone just stood there in awe of the power of nature. Not a good place for trailers or bigger rigs. We took a 22ft sprinter van in and that was fine.

For Limekiln State Park: This part of the California coast is spectacular and Lime Kiln offered its own charms. A rocky beach, some nice trails up the stream or out to the old kilns or waterfall.

The camp sites vary. We had a private site, best suited for our tent, with lots of space, but others are right along the road or parking area. Our neighbors told us that they tried to make reservations for our site, but we must have been 10 seconds faster. They ended up moving when another space opened up.

For Limekiln State Park: Love it! If you want to be alone, this is the place to go. Beach or cry side camping. Take a hike back in time. We'll worth the drive.
