For Mad River Campground: We were looking for a CG in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a week night in early September in our 25 foot MH.

This is a pleasant CG right on the Mad River. All sites are primitive (no hookups). There were water spigots throughout the CG as well as trash bins and vault toilets. The sites were different sizes, some were better for tents than RVs with small parking areas and large grassy areas and the reverse. Most needed some leveling. Trees provided a mix of sun and shade and provided privacy. The CG is between a road and the river. About 10 sites were along the river and were quieter than those along the road, although there was very little traffic at night. Of 40 sites, 4 were occupied. There was no wifi nor cell coverage in the CG.

There's a river access trail on the east end of the CG which leads to a gravel beach along the river.
