Jorygun

For Merced River Resort: I’ve stayed here a couple of times but don’t recommend. It’s mostly full-timers, crowded, expensive, and not well maintained. Too bad because the location is great.

Armen

For Merced River Resort: Good access to Hwy 99. Good security. Reservations and we paid $40 for one night. When I reserved, I was assigned A-16, when we arrived, we got A-14. The area smelled heavily of dog poop, and we were pretty close to the enclosed dog park, so I’m not sure where the poop was being disposed of when people vacated the park. The staff seemed nice, there was no hot water in the women’s shower, although they were clean. Most of the park’s occupants seemed long term, but there were a few overnighters like us. The train didn’t bother me, however there are overhead lights on all night. Our space’s dump hookup did not fit our standard hose fitting and it was a bit of a mess dumping before leaving. All in all it was ok, if not a little pricey for the quality of the accommodations.

Maggie and Joe

For Merced River Resort: This park has excellent access to and from the highway, good security and is situated on the banks of the Merced River. We stayed here two nights in our 30' 5th wheel. The park is nicely treed but the sites are tight and hard to access with a big rig. The bathrooms were dated and a little dirty when we stayed there. However, it was December so the area was quite muddy. I couldn't get hot water in the ladies shower, Joe got hot water in the mens. There is on-site propane fill which is picked up and delivered. There is a good fenced dog run area, but be aware that there are a lot of big dogs in the park. There is a small store and office which is open 7 days a week. The management was quite friendly and helpful. You can read our full review at joe-rv-living.com

Stream DRV

For Merced River Resort: We stayed at this location for 4 nights. We called 10 days in advance which is not a lot of advance notice but more time than we have given many other parks. We quickly found that for a 38 foot 5Th wheel maneuvering inside the park was going to be difficult. We were placed in a spot that was obviously for a much smaller rig which made getting in extremely difficult. The sites are very close together and the park has not been updated for several years. Cable TV is not worth hooking up and they might as well not advertise WiFi because it is so slow. There are many sites that are occupied by long stay campers so the only sites available are the ones they didn't want. The train does run all night and the spots on the east side of camp hear it running 24/7. Other than these workable issues the camp was close to I-5 which makes getting in and out easy and about 2 hours from Yosemite.

The Andersons

For Merced River Resort: Nice campsite. Pros: The staff is above average and very pleasant to deal with. propane is picked up and brought back full at the going rate...cost us $40 for a 7 gallon tank. Views are outstanding. Permanent residents are friendly and helpful. Security is vigilant. Cons: no fire pits. Traffic and train noise from nearby freeway is sporadic and loud 24/7. Summary: recommended. $35/night for full hookups incl cable tv. Playground and park on site.
