For The Pines Campground: Positives: low price, no cut off time to enter

Negatives: bathrooms unusable due to being infested with flies. I don't mind pit toilets, it's better than no bathrooms, but I was paying for the bathroom since I didn't make a fire and could have camped many other places for free without a bathroom or fire. So I felt like it was money wasted. We left quickly in the morning to get away from all the flies and to find a usable bathroom.

When we woke up in the morning the flies were swarming so bad that we didn't pack up camp. We just broke it down and threw it all into the car as fast as possible due to the annoying swarm of flies. We were in the campsite furthest from the bathrooms. I can only imagine how bad the flies must have been at the camp sites closer to the bathrooms. I didn't notice the flies to be bad when pitching camp or going to bed later at night. There were no flies in the tent when we were sleeping.

Overall...
Only 12 sites. Most didn't have shade. I like a little shade over my tent. Found one site with a perfect nook under some trees. It was perfect. I love waking up in the morning looking up at branches and trees instead of blinding sun. That was really nice. Because there are so few sites it was extremely quiet at night. Crowded camp sites tend to be noisier and lack any level of privacy of conversations as sound seems to carry so well outdoors at night. I loved the quiet...it was almost too quiet.

For those reasons, and the fact there were no flies in our tent while we slept, we did like the campsite. But the state of the bathrooms will keep us from returning to this camp site in the future.
