For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: No drama review, just straight talk. Drive up to Yosemite area was cool. There were some spots with no guardrail. Just drive safely and you’ll be fine. :). Great Grocery store in Groveland, Mar-Vals. Try a sandwich with their Dutch crunch bread. Mountain Thyme is a cool coffee shop/nursery. Campsites are somewhat close together. I didn’t feel like people were peeking in our windows though. If you want a river spot get their around 11-12, when people are checking out. A couple of hiking trails are on property, across the walking bridge. If you don’t get a rover site there are a few close paths to get in the water, so no worries. I would recommend turning into the campground at the Valero. If you take Hardin Flat, there are a lot of potholes. The Valero will be up the road on the right if you are heading up from Groveland. Facilities are a little dated. Playground was nice. No dog park, but lots of room to frolic. Nice family atmosphere. YOU WILL NOT HAVE CELL SERVICE. We have an ATT Netgear Nighthawk, Verizon 8800L and T-Mobile phones. We also have a weboost Drive Reach with a “beer can” antenna. Lastly we have a netgear “flat” mimo antenna. If you need internet the complimentary WiFi is good enough at the laundry room. 10 mins from Yosemite entrance.

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: Zero or negative stars if it were possible. This place is horrible. What a disappointment after a long trail up the mountains. This place was so packed, not much space in sites. Roads are horrendous. The deal breakers for me were the fact the there was zero cellular service for TM and ATT. ZERO INTERNET! Worst part, very limited 50 amp sites and the voltage kept dropping down to or below 104 volts. My RV surge protector kept going off because of the drop on voltage. It wasn’t until around 1:30 am when the voltage rose back up to 120 volts. The park can’t handle the number of ppl camping. We left the following morning. Zero cellular service, bad voltage that could harm your RV…no thanks. Will never return to this sad campground. Also, gates were wide open. If you weren’t a member or didn’t have a reservation, you could totally just drive in and set up camp. Never saw any staff coming around to check. This place really sucks. What a disappointment.

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: This beautiful campground is located on Highway 120 about 5 miles from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. Super easy check-in and like most Thousand Trails parks, guests choose their own site. We stayed in back-in full-hookup site #100 and the tree shade was excellent. Leveling was a bit of a challenge for our 28 foot class A RV though. There are lots of pull-through sites in other areas but none of them have tree shade. Finding a site next to the river is just about impossible unless you get insanely lucky. Bathroom #4 was very clean and well maintained. A country store is located about 1 mile from the campground. It has basic supplies and gas pumps. 10% discount on in-store purchases for Thousand Trails members (alcohol excluded.) A decent sized grocery store is in Groveland about 20 miles away. We tried several fun hiking trails inside the park during our stay. Lots of places to bike as well. Warning: there is no cell service at this campground. You have to drive almost 2 miles for AT&T or Verizon. To find a signal, turn left out of the campground on Highway 120. Go a little over a mile and then turn right on Sawmill Mountain road. Look for a sign that says "Sawmill Mtn Area." Then drive about 100 yards and there is a small turnout to the left near a green gate. Look for the fake tree with light brown bark that is actually a cell tower. The complimentary laundry room wifi was terrible. We did not try the optional paid wifi. The nearby Evergreen Lodge has excellent food and terrific wifi! To get there, turn right out of the campground on Highway 120 going towards Yosemite. Drive about 4 miles and then take the left turn to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Campground lodge was closed due to Covid.

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: This is a Thousand Trails campground and it is the first TT we’ve ever stayed at. We decided to join TT because the price here was $73/night and we wanted to stay for 1+ week. This stay more than paid for the membership! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were reasonably clean for the huge number of campers there. And it is only 5 miles from the entrance to Yosemite NP (although you still have a very long way to go to get to the Village). There were a few things that were less than stellar: there is no free WiFi unless you go to the Lodge, or you can pay $7/day for WiFi at your site (less expensive pkgs are available for longer lengths of time), AND the Lodge WiFi was out altogether for several days while we were there so no WiFi at all during that time. Also the MEMBERS ONLY campsites for Thousand Trails members were very strangely set up - there was only one electric/water pedestal for every two RVs and that caused you to be parked VERY CLOSE to your neighbors (within spitting distance of the one behind you and almost looking into the door of the one across from you). That would be great if your were camping with friends but kinda uncomfortable when strangers are right outside your front door with their campfire. Also they have some of their workers camping in their own campers within the members only area. We wish we would have stayed up on the hill where it was set up more conventionally and there was plenty of shade (no shade in the MEMBERS ONLY loop). All in all, we would stay there again but it is not one of our favorite CGs.

Wanted to add that they had a nice Saturday night BBQ (hamburgers/hot dogs/and fixins) along with a nice bluegrass band and free smores around the big campfire at the pavilion for $5/person. And also a pancake/bacon/sausage and nice toppings Sunday morning for $5 as well. That was a nice way to meet your neighbors and swap stories!

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: Not very scenic and the staff wasn’t welcoming, but not rude either. Laundry room only had one working washer and dryer and bathrooms weren’t very clean.

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: This resort was great. The facilities were clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were well kept and all the kids in the park were safe riding their bikes around. Tons of fishing! We saw a lot of people carrying trout from the river back to their campsite. There’s always room for improvement obviously, like the “beach” was small and oddly shaped, but non of the kids seemed to mind. The miniature golf course was old and worn, but my daughters still had fun on it, and it was free. No one was partying too loudly or out of order. Our neighbors said it was the nicest thousand trails they had ever seen.

For Yosemite Lakes RV Resort: Originally we were scheduled to spend four nights at this RV park. But after experiencing the deplorable condition of the run down, very poorly maintained RV facility we left after our second night. Many of the electrical pedestals in the quest area did not work and those that did were only 30 amp. Finding the conditions of the park so bad we were further blown away by the prices. $70.00 per night per week day, $79.00 per weekend night. Outrageous for a so poorly maintained RV facility. With this facility being on the main road into Yosemite N.P. you would think that the owners would show their pride for the area by cleaning and fixing up the facility.
I realize that finding RV Parks reasonably
close to Yosemite is not an easy task, but I would suggest not booking a reservation at this RV park.
