For Basalt - San Luis Reservoir SRA: It’s open and we are one of three campsites occupied plus camp host. $30 dry camping seems like a bit much but we are out of the wind and the Madeira campground close by seemed a little sketch to us. And that was $20 dry camping. Bathrooms are in great shape with flush toilets. Individual bathrooms with sink and toilet-not communal. 2 bars of ATT service. Showers are pay. Great place to stop for a night.

For Basalt - San Luis Reservoir SRA: Beautiful, green, rolling hills and magnificent reservoir. The facilities were cleaned daily (showers coin operated). Not many campers at this time of year..very quiet. The sites were cement pads. There was water available, mostly dry camping..with a dump station on the way out. The rangers were friendly and accommodating.

For Basalt - San Luis Reservoir SRA: Firstly, this is a dry campsite with water taps around the loop. We were aware of it when we booked, so if dry is not your thing, book at the other site down by the lake (to the north east) where there are serviced sites, boat ramp, beaches for swimming, and other facilities.
Our site was nice and backed some picturesque rolling grass lands and hills. It was a stop over while in transit to DL so our experience was limited.
Park host and rangers were very nice and we liked our stay. The park was packed so book early if you want in. Some noise during the day, but everyone shut down well before the 10pm time. We observed elk, deer, rabbits, hares and hawks all in about 1/2 hr. It was a major highlight. Were camps in early July.
