For Pillar Point RV Park: First, the good. The view is very nice and it’s very close to great hiking trails and more great views. The park hostess was very nice and helpful. Now, the bad. No reservations are available, yet it is obvious to people arriving that spots are held for others. They say first come first serve, but cones are placed that hold reservations. When I asked about taking one of the open spots she said they were at the “grocery”. The spots cannot get any closer together. The highway is very loud 24 hours a day, as is the fog horn. I mean all day, all the time. Spots are not big enough for RV’s and tow vehicle and most big rigs stick out into the road making it very hard for others to get in and out of their spot. We could ever kid scream and every word of all of our neighbors conversations. Zero privacy for everyone. Bathrooms were still closed even though SAHO was lifted. No bushes or trees. Literally a parking lot that is also available to the public for a $10 a day parking fee

For Pillar Point RV Park: first come first serve. Camp host played favorites and blocked off spots for friends. Those friends arrived after we did and were given the premium spots. For a place that does not except reservations and is on a first come first serve basis they should not Allow their host to play favorites.

For Pillar Point RV Park: Good only if you need an easy stop with hook-ups. Bad location right along Highway 1. Sites jammed next to each other, no trees, picnic tables etc... The “view” is very overrated, basically you see the break water. It is within walking distance of a number of restaurants and bars including the Half Moon Brewery which has good live music on weekends.

Feesaffe

For Pillar Point RV Park: + beautiful views
+ good for different short walks along the bay
+ friendly and accommodating camphost

- foghorn blasting every 10 sec 24/7 (depending on weather???)
- situated next to Hwy 1, can be noisy
