For Edwards AFB FamCamp: Small rv park but adequate. Very nice camp host. Gravel spots. Spots are flip flopped with the 2 next to each other so front doors face each other, kind of strange. Lots of area to walk dogs. Very very windy there. Small px, commissary & gas station within walking distance. Not much to do in the area. Laundry was small but adequate, did not utilize bathroom/showers.

For Edwards AFB FamCamp: AllStays note: This was sent by email and not technically a review. But has lots of good information.

The policy of 'no overflow parking unless all hookup sites are filled' is now being strictly enforced. Prices on full-hookup sites is now $30/night and partial-hookups (water only) is $20/night. Overflow has gone up from $5/night and is now $10/night. The laundry room drain cannot handle the only two of three operating washing machines draining at the same time, so guests are urged to stagger start times by 10 minutes. The air conditioning is always on in the laundry room. The urinal in the men's room is always running and overflowing. The partial-hookup spots are actually supposed to be full-hookups, but civil engineering hasn't fixed the electrical which was damaging AC units on some visitor's campers. The camp host was unceremoniously relieved of his post, and now an attendant from Outdoor Recreation (ODR) is in the office between 8:30am-4:30pm. If you arrive late at night, you are expected to find a vacant full-hookup spot (even if you don't require hookups) and park there. Then you must self-report to ODR if the attendant isn't available. It is against local Field Services Squadron (FSS) policy for folks to use overflow even if they are in a POV (car, truck, jeep). This is a bit sad due to a few airmen who are mostly deployed tend to use FAMCAMP while at permanent post for the month or two when they are not deployed (thank you for your comment about homesteaders 'Sweetcamper'). The scenic vistas from this Campground consist of the rear of the bowling alley, unkempt desert landscape, tumbleweeds, and a few drainage ditches. To be fair, they did fix the WiFi and there is basic cable in the TV room now. There it is folks. Don't shoot the messenger.

For Edwards AFB FamCamp: Stayed one night. Was fortunate to get a site with water & electric. Nearly all sites are occupied by homesteaders. There is a large parking lot overflow area for dry camping. This facility is in bad need of improvements. Dry and dead weeds two feet high occupy most common areas. The exception is a picnic/play area near the Hosts site. This area is watered by the Hosts. The Hosts do the best they can with what they have. The electric did not work at my site, so I went to Host and he immediately came over and, not being able to fix it, simply plugged me in to neighbors box. A woman and her dog seemed to be living in the Community TV room and sleeping in there. I had hoped to use the TV room, but felt as if I was intruding on "her" space. I mentioned it to the Host, but he seemed unbothered by the situation. I will not return to this facility.

For Edwards AFB FamCamp: Great place when visiting Edwards AFB. Seems to be pretty full much of the time but the campground host is friendly and accommodating. There is a large overflow area where you can wait for a site if they are full. Clean laundromat and TV room.

RAY

For Edwards AFB FamCamp: We tried to find a space on 19 oct, 2014 but all were filled even though the board showed several empty spots. Then again on march 4th, 2015, we tried once again to find all the spots occupied even though the board had unfilled cards in spaces 6,7,10,11,15 & 17. Space # 11 had a damaged trailer parked there in oct & again in mar even though the board showed this to be an mt spot. We sure won't drive 16 miles (one way) out of our way again.

For Edwards AFB FamCamp: Stayed here 27thru29 Dec 2012. The campground is well maintained. The BX and Commissary are close by. The base is a ghost town on the weekends. Plenty of room for big rigs. No WiFi. AT&T worked well. Would definitely stay again.
