Mark Siedler

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: There are currently 3 RV areas: Lot 1/2 is grassy and has electric and water but is right next to the road and gets a fair amount of noise. Lot 3 is further back with water and electric but on a significant slope which makes leveling difficult. Lot 5 is the furthest back. It is gravel but has full hook ups. It is the furthest back from the road so is the quietest. Some of the trailers seem to be stored here and are an unoccupied but there seem to be enough occupied RVs that it does feel safe. All sites have free Wi-Fi from the fairgrounds that has decent speed.

Sharon

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: Great place to stay near Yosemite (1hour away). We were there in late February and an excellent time to visit Yosemite to avoid the crowds (bumper to bumper traffic in season?) The front lot is grassy, quiet, with level back in sites. Not crowded only one other camper. Water and electric. Near a State Hwy, but not obnoxiously noisy, gets quiet at night. CA Mining Museum on site within yards. Very safe and pleasant camping experience. $45/night... maybe a little pricey for amenities but still worth it.

Sally

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: Ok for an overnight on the way to somewhere else. We stayed on the grass area, seems nicer than the other RV lots. Spaces are very close together, so might be too cozy if they were full - but we were the only ones there. Directions to various RV areas within the fairgrounds and to the dump station were confusing. And it was rather expensive $45 plus $5 for the dog. Not many options in the area.

Joe

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: If you are heading up to Yosemite, this is a great place to stop for the night. Only $35 with full hookups. Hot showers, clean bathrooms and flat, grassy ground. Note-if you stay in lot #1 there may be noise from the road nearby.

Loneoak

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: I checked out the reviews for other campgrounds in the Yosemite area, and a lot of them talked about uneven sites, tight turns, etc. - not what we want with a big rig. This suited us just fine! We were very happy here. Our site was level, but some of are not. Great value for the money.

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: Stayed April 2018. Same as other well written reviews. Parked in grassy area 1. FYI, mineral museum not open Mon-Wed. Sites are separated well

Proton man

For Mariposa Fairgrounds State: Stayed here for two nights while visiting Yosemite in late March 2018. First I must say everything was just fine at this time of year. We stayed in lot 1 and 2 which is a big grassy area next to the highway. There is electric and water but no sewer in 1 and 2. After about 8:00 the traffic noise was not bad. At this time of year there was only 3 campers in this area of the campground. I would suspect that during the high season this area would be very crowded as the individual sites are fairly close with no separation or trees. Lot 3 is on a slope and I think it would be very difficult to get level even with a lot of blocks. Lot 4 is all gravel with no grass. Lot 5 looked a little undeveloped. We did have a good stay here as it is only about an hour from the park and we basically had it to ourselves when we were here. Cost is $35 per site and and $5 per pet. When we were here lots 1 and 2 we're very clean and we'll maintained.
