For Veterans Memorial Park: Nice small park, well maintained, very quiet. Can actually take RVs over 21' - there are a number of sites that could take up to probably 27'. Our van is 25' and we had no problems. Main benefit is that it's close to the center of Monterey. Has water, dump, no hookups. Not cheap for what you get, but you do get proximity to Monterey.

For Veterans Memorial Park: Very nice campground in the heart of Monterey. In the middle of a very quit park, with a nps park campground feel. Arrived 7 pm on a Monday in august and still 2 or 3 places open. Very nice and helpful staff. You can walk in 15 minutes to downtown Monterey and beach.

For Veterans Memorial Park: I thought it was great place! First come/first served. Must get there by 4pm to get a spot and by noon on Fri/Sat. Showers clean. Ranger John super nice and helpful. Quiet. No fires. Right in heart of City; near Presidio of Monterey. Easy access to beach, wharfs and Pebble Beach. Would stay there again.

Pansie

For Veterans Memorial Park: Sadly, not as nice as it used to be. But since there's not much available in Monterey, it's the best of what's offered if you want to be right in town. The showers are free and unlocked, so this brings in transients who aren't currently staying at the park (4 day limit). So between these folks and the transients that ARE staying at the park, there can be sort of a weird vibe. Not always, but that's been the case my past two visits there.

Christi

For Veterans Memorial Park: Great host very friendly. Easy to find and easy parking. Sites are a bit tight together. Add a few kids and it's not exactly quiet. Still it's happy family noise not cars/freeway or something unpleasant. Quick drive down to cannery row for sights and dinner. I understand there is a walking path down there too. No hook ups. Most sites have shade trees with some in full sun. Gravel/dirt spots that are not level but not so far off that a couple blocks won't do the job.

John

For Veterans Memorial Park: Very nice campground with friendly manager living on site. Beautiful small trees throughout but still sunny if you choose. Adequate restrooms with free showers. Great location for Monterey attractions. 3 day limit on your stay.
