For Giant Redwoods RV and Camp: Place was awful. Spot had 6" weeds full of burrs. My dog was miserable from pulling them off. Dump is in fail status. You have to use a full hookup site to dump - none open when I left so had to travel with full tanks. Kids unsupervised - used my site for a walking/biking path. No satelite or tv. Cable iffy. Wifi is 3g and u pay after 1.6 gb. Go down the road to Fortuna or Eureka. GSC screwed up this rating.

Glo

For Giant Redwoods RV and Camp: it's quiet at night. That's the good. The road in is really rutted. Big ruts. The people living around it are dirty and have garbage everywhere. one lot is filled with garbage bags. Dogs are on chains to bark incessantly. SAD. I went there several years ago and it was great. It had fallen apart and it seems no one cares. Also sad.

Matt

For Giant Redwoods RV and Camp: The quarter mile connection off the 101 to the park is a through an off-grid kind of neighborhood but once you pull into the park its quite safe and very quiet. It's right on the river and is a great home base to visit the giant redwoods. The wireless is not free after the first 100 MB which is barely one update on your iPhone! Att coverage is fair. The cable TV reception was poor. The staff were great and the location is good. Bring a camera and spend your time in the forests around the area.

TT

For Giant Redwoods RV and Camp: Overall, quiet at night. Jacob checked us in & was very pleasant.
*pretty new restrooms that are really clean, concrete floors, with a single shower in each (handicap a bonus for those that need it)
*right on the Eel River and a nice swim beach if here in summer, but like many bodies of water, be mindful of algae bloom & your dogs)
*RV sites close together & tight access
*Few sites (both tent & back in RV) are under amazing redwoods
*They do recycle & park is clean

Now the other side of things!
If you arrive at dark you may be challenged to find it, even though it is right off 101. The entry is not lit, has a 6+ft wooden fence around the park & entry/exit gates which they close & lock at 7:00pm, then reopen at 7:00am. If you need to arrive or leave before/after those times, let them know & they will accommodate you (Note: if you happen to make a wrong turn before entering the park, you will understand the security!) Felt a bit like being in the Twilight Zone for those that remember!!

For Giant Redwoods RV and Camp: Great staff. Sites are close together but have seen worse. Nice place overall.
