For Woodward Reservoir: We were visiting friends in Oakdale and spend only one night. We didn't use the facilities (bathrooms etc.). See other comments. We had a quiet night. The view is nice. There is no reservation the same day; first come first serve. I see that this can be a problem in the busy season.

For Woodward Reservoir: The campground had lovely views but was dirty, ie bits and othe center on the site, Aluminum foil in the fire ring etc.it would be an excellent place if folks picked up after themselves and the park had the staff to clean up a site after it was vacated.

For Woodward Reservoir: I had read the only other review and had set some low expectations for this campground. I booked our stay here as we were visiting relatives in Modesto area and this was convenient and very reasonably priced, with one exception. We paid an extra $72.00 at the gate for our 3 dogs for our 7 night stay. This seemed very high considering we only paid $36 a night for the Full hookup site for our camper. We stayed on T-island and recommend staying in one of those sites if you are booking here. The Resevoir has several little banks off T-island that let you put a kayak in/out of the water and plenty of campers were floating, standing or relaxing in the water. There were numerous Canadian Geese walking around the area and floating on the water. Our campsite was very sizable and many folks had plenty of room for extending their slides and having a tent or two up as well. The 2 issues we felt could be addressed by management of the facility include the cleanliness of the bathroom/shower buildings and trash. Considering how the shower facility appears, the showers were surprisingly good from a water pressure and hot water perspective. As mentioned by the previous reviewer, the bigger problem was the cleaning of the restrooms. There was no hand soap to wash your hands and the actual toilets were stainless steel including the toilet seat. Additionally, each of the trash areas in the campground were constantly overflowing with trash. It does appear that the staff try to curb “day use guests” from using the camper area. Numerous signs tell them this is a campground not for day use. However, we had numerous day users set themselves up in a reservable camping site and the staff would find them on their rounds and have to review the rules and they would pack up and move on after the park ranger talked with them. Another comment would be about the general public that use this campground. It must have quite a reputation as every day there were several times we noticed several Sherif cars driving through the campgrounds. Traveling across the US (from Miami, up the east coast, through the south and now on the west coast), we have seen many different types of campers. Of all the places we have been, this Campground has an overwhelming amount of loud party oriented campers that appeared to ignore the requested quiet hours.

For Woodward Reservoir: I had high hopes for this campground. It is 45 minutes away from my home. The staff interaction was good. Nice reservoir RV campsites were generous. The biggest problem I had was the cleaning of the restrooms. They were not cleaned daily. When I came in my first day I noted how dirty they were. By the time they came and cleaned them it was two days later. I am sad that the public are such slobs and throw plastic bottle and paper all over the floors of the restroom plus people didn’t even flush the toilets. I really hate leaving a bad review but it needs to be said. The price to stay is very reasonable.
