For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: Stayed in October, 2022 while visiting the Pinnacles National Park. Long drive into the park but not a lot of choices. Huge RV park, nice sized spaces and level, but difficult to find your way around. Roads not named or numbered, site numbers often difficult to read, sometimes out of order, and don’t always even match the map. WiFi access marked on the map but actually existed somewhere else, not marked on the map. Ok stay, but lots of room for improvement

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: This place could be so much better. Workers don’t seem to so much. Nothing, gets raked. I’m not talking about just the rv site, I mean they don’t really maintain anything around the park. They also drive like jackasses on those golf carts. 5 mph, more like 50! Okay, exaggerate on the 50, but seriously…they drive like they stole it…kicking up unnecessary amounts of dust. Very, very cramped sites around the cabins since there are a lot of shade. This place could easily be 5 stars had they kept up with the basic maintenance. For example, I stared at the same pile of leaves a full timer raked up for weeks. Large branches falling and them not doing anything about it. It was crazy. They are so lazy. Mini golf was kept up. Laundry room was clean. Pool was always dirty. I wouldn’t wanna swim in it. Trash littered and stay littered around sites. This place needs to be managed/maintained a little better.

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: This large campground has a peculiar layout in that tent sites are frequently placed in close proximity to RV sites. Most Thousand Trails parks have a dedicated tent section, but not this one. This made it difficult to locate a quality site after arrival as it seemed like every shaded area was for tents only. Luckily we somehow stumbled upon 30/50 amp full hookup back-in site #507. There was no extra fee for the 50 amp. This site has 2 large trees over it so the amount of shade is excellent. The 30 amp plug on our electrical box was loose which resulted in a poor connection. Fortunately we have a 50 amp adapter. Warning: the 5 mph campground speed limit is strictly enforced! We saw several deer during our stay which was great. The bathroom closest to us did not appear to be in service as there was yellow police tape around the entrance. Country store is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00pm. Sadly the shelves are extremely bare at the moment but they are in the process of restocking supplies. Coffee is not available due to COVID. We interacted with several staff members and everyone was nice. My AT&T phone had 2 surprisingly fast bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 1 bar. We didn't try the optional paid wifi. Recycling bins are available.

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: I would rate it a 0 if it were not for the deer that came through. This place is poorly maintained. It looks like the grass has not been cut this year. May be why the deer came. The sewer for the adjoining site did not have a cap. The whole place looks run down. I would be ashamed if I were a Thousand Trails member. On top of all that it was $79 for Saturday night. We were stuck so had to do it.

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: What a great resort/campground. Numerous facilities located throughout the campground so even away from your site you can find one. Nice to see lots of 50 amp sites and full hookups, some sites are rather close together but with so many choices nobody seemed to park next to each other. Out of the way in a secluded valley this park offers plenty of walking areas and wildlife for viewing. Nice as no light pollution so viewing stars is possible. But do need to also point out dirt pads that are somewhat level. The few paved main roads are fairly rough but not bad. We will definitely be back in the future.

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: First, the campground is nicely laid out, while there appear to be several sites with electrical issues, they are clearly marked and as of the end of December, there are a lot of choices for parking. During the busy season I can see how some people would be upset with the number of converted tent sites, but the number of non-electric sites are probably down to 20% of the park, so they've been working at fixing the place up. I expect that TT has this place on it's list and will get to finishing the job as soon as prudent. The dog park is in good shape, the spas are under renovation, and the roads are a bit rough but they have people out filling holes so I can't complain. The staff appear friendly and knowledgeable. Running my Roku through my unlimited data Verizon hotspot is marginal for streaming at times while at other times it's rock solid. NO AT&T, SPRINT, OR T-MOBILE. The CG WiFi is pretty good if you have patience. I find that I have to watch the speed so that when it drops off, I then switch to a different router. I have a signal boosted WiFi antenna so I can reach out and touch several nodes with good results. This is not the first time I've seen this problem with campground WiFi. Unfortunately, while I can see a few nodes on the Roku, connecting to the CG WiFi is laborious so I'm forced to stay with my hotspot. So far I've tested the WiFi nodes 1C, 1D & 2G nodes with marginal results, and 2D with good results. We're here during the winter holiday season and it really isn't that crowded. There are at least two open spots between a lot of the campers so it's really quiet and pleasant. The power is solid and LP here is under $3.50 so a good price for CA. The store was closed during the holiday season for renovations, but it's open now and looks nice and well stocked (for a CG store). They have several of the RV and camping basics, more canned goods than usual, plenty of ice cream, and enough of the basic sodas and snacks to make people happy. Overall, if it weren't for the terrible burr problem, I would definitely consider this a place worthy of returning, time and time again. The BURRS! I thought people were kidding. OMG! My crocks pick them up like magnets and scatter them all over the floor of the rig. On the first night it looked like I was doing the dance of the sugar plum fairy or something, because I was hopping around half the night when I would encounter another burr. I need to get booties for the dogs, ASAP, and then start wearing something like steel plated shoes. This is my only malfunction with the park and the only reason I would not consider coming back. I'm sure some will think that's silly, but I've never seen burrs to this extent. The grounds are well mowed, so I can only imagine the burrs spring up very quickly and are very low to the ground. Sticking to the gravel areas does nothing as the burrs seem to be evenly distributed throughout. Give me vampire mosquitoes and clouds of kamikaze horseflies before you send me back here. I can wear repellent and put up bug zappers, but how do you protect from burrs? IMHO, the only thing worse would be to realize there were things outside waiting to eat me. Since I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority on the burr thing, I'm docking only one star and will simply vote with my feet. For those who don't mind or have some secret weapon, you'll find this to be a lovely, out of the way, place.

For San Benito RV & Camping Resort: Oh my, was spectacular at one time but is pretty run down now. Great location for seeing Pinnacles National Monument, about 1/2 hr drive. The electricity is not working on over 1/2 of the spaces due to lack of maintenance. Too bad.
