For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: This is a large well maintained park. The sites are reasonably wide, but the roads are narrow so large trailers may be difficult to get into back in sites. Staff are great. My only complaint would be that it is very expensive; $135. per night after KOA discount on weekends. But the place is fully booked, so no reason for them to adjust rates.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: I made a reservation for 3 spots with my credit card under my husband's KOA number. Upon checking in, they requested my ID. I gave her my driver's license. She appeared to be struggling to find my reservation so I told her it was under my husband's name. She asked if I had his ID. I said no. She said I had to have his ID. Since there was a line of RVs backed up on the road and he was 100 yards away, I asked Why? It's our policy, she said. I asked if he could text it. She said we could FaceTime. So I FaceTimed my husband. While he's on the phone, she changed her mind and said she needed him to come in. My credit card but he needs to show his ID in person since his name is on the reservation. Now I'm mad and confused. I go get him. He shows his ID and went back to the RV. The owner stepped in and said they've had a lot of fraud. I asked here or all KOAs. She said here. I said it would be helpful if you included it in your email. She said they did. We continue checking in and I reviewed the email. I said I couldn't find it in her email and for the next person, can you show me? While I was upset when I first had to go get my husband, at this point I was calm and just trying to figure out where I went wrong. She said she didn't have to show me and she was cancelling my reservation. If the whole incident was a misunderstanding over potential fraud, why did they let me put the refund on my card. They didn't credit the card on file that they just charged. No ID, just asked me to slide in my card.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: We enjoyed this KOA and look forward to returning. First time here. Lots to do, clean resort and the staff is wonderful and helpful. Definitely a favorite park of our entire 2022 rv trip. Well done, KOA Petaluma team.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Not what I expected when paying over $127/night, was not your typical KOA experience. When we arrived, they didn’t show us to our site, sites are crunched in like sardines. We were able to put out our slide out, but couldn’t extend our canopy all the way. The water spigot next door had a constant leak, which puddled into our site. We were surrounded by barking dogs, drunks playing their country music loud, kids on bikes everywhere, and the smell of smoke was overwhelming. Certain days the place smelled like a cow pasture. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Wi-Fi is a joke. We are coffee lovers, and they made a big deal about some lady making specialty coffee. 2 days in a row we woke up early to try her coffee, she never showed up. Staff in the stores are rude, and when we asked (I assume the owner) what time the laundry room opened, he acted annoyed, not friendly at all. Dryers never got our clothes dry, and laundry was expensive $5.25 to wash and partially dry a small load. Pool was huge, they also have a hot tub, but we didn’t use either, they were overrun with kids. Lots for kids to do- playground, rock wall, wagon rides, bike rental, some animals(which we felt sorry for), outdoor movies. It’s at least an hour drive to get to downtown San Francisco, and you have to cross Golden Gate Bridge each way, which was a $9.40 roll each time.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: I agree with just about all of the other reviews. If you have kids with you, definitely come on a nice summer weekend. There is lots to do, including a big pool, petting zoo, hay rides, and a movie night. However, if you DON’T then be sure to come during the week and choose a site away from the pool area. The property is very nice and well maintained. There are sites in the redwoods as well as a variety of others. We will come back, but be sure to stay away from the kiddie area.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Huge park, lots of kid things to do. Very crowded. We saw many people trying to make turns inside the park and had to ask people to move their vehicle. They dont guide you to the site which makes things very difficult trying to find your site. There is also a combo gate that you must pass through and it is mounted about three feet off the ground. So you must exit the motorhome to put your combo in. We did have a great site on the end with a patio. Be careful some sites dont have sewer, they have daily pump out. Which we wouldn’t have chosen because we were hesitant to use our clothes washer. The staff was very good unfortunately we had a very loud group near us.

Shadow Cruising

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: We stayed here for a weekend. It’s very busy, but well staffed with employees who are very good at customer service. This KOA is GREAT for families. The amenities range from an enormous pool to a jumping pillow and petting zoo, to name a few. Bring a scooter or bike for your kids or rent one of the KOA’s banana bikes. There are a lot of happy kids having a great time throughout the campground. The dog park area is nice grass with seating for the humans and a huge shade tree. It’s easily the nicest KOA dog park I’ve seen. We have a 28’ TT and stayed in space 157, a pull thru w/ full hookups. The space was large and it had a fire pit and picnic table. No cable connection that I could find. WiFi was stable and I was able to stream on my iPhone. Site 157 is right across from the play structure area, which was nice to be able to watch my little ones playing from the campsite. We stayed on site and just used all the awesome amenities the entire time we were camping. The store is fully stocked and the grounds are very well maintained. They even use a texting concierge feature that allows you to text them to deliver firewood and s’mores to your campsite in the afternoon/ evening and they’ll just charge the card you have on file. Quiet time is 10pm - 8am and staff does roam the grounds at night in golf carts to make sure there are no issues. It was very appreciated on our weekend trip. While the nightly price is fairly high, the service and amenities come very close to matching the price point. I’d stay again and recommend it to others.
