For Candlestick RV Park: Phew. Two stars because they had a spot for a night when our other plans fell through. They also allowed us to check out late after our Alcatraz tour without a fee. Otherwise, this is a one star experience through and through. For this unfamiliar with SF history - this is a parking lot by the since demolished Candlestick Park of the Giants and 49ers. It is probably 95% full-timers, and the road leading in is flush with people living in cars and RVs that are no longer mobile. The area has had plans for development delayed over and over again since 2015 We spent one night here, and paid $125 for full hookups for the night. The host offered us three potential spots, and two of them were unavailable because full-timers had their cars parked in them. Spots are super tight, compounded by all of the additional vehicles of full-timers. Lots of trash in the strip of landscaping between our spot and the next one. We literally heard a gunshot as we fell asleep. This was our last resort, and while we didn’t encounter any problems other than having to ask people to move their vehicles so that we could park and leave, we didn’t feel safe, wouldn’t allow our kids to go outside, and were worried about theft the entire time we were there. Thankfully, we walked away without incident.

Brian

For Candlestick RV Park: The most expensive RV camp on our 16 days stay in the US and the worst one we stayed on. 225$ for 2 days. The spaces was small and many of the guests seemed to be staying there all year. A lot of noise in the morning as other “guests” went off to work. The area around the RV park looks like it’s from a war zone. A lot of homeless is sleeping just outside the gate, but there is a guard on the RV site when the office closes. Will not recommend this to anyone.

For Candlestick RV Park: If you need a place to park your RV, have full hook ups and be in San Francisco then this is the place. The spaces are close together but we weren’t planning on spending much time at the park. We were able to get a site the same day. It has decent laundry facilities.

For Candlestick RV Park: There aren't a lot of options anywhere near downtown San Francisco. That is the one plus against almost all negatives.

Debbie

For Candlestick RV Park: Stayed in a 25 foot motor home early October 2016 for three nights. Daughter lives in San Francisco so wanted close by.
First, the roads into the RV park are full of potholes. Cannot dodge the holes in the street. Not the fault of the park, but city. The area is "sketchy but the park does have security in the evening and is gated.

We paid $89 cash (not incl tax) and that was with a discount. Many of the RVs were either seasonal or full time. Lots of stray cats roaming about. The Candlestick Baseball Park was partially demolished and rubble left behind. Honestly, the area around us looked like a leftover war zone.

We would leave in the morning after breakfast and return later in the evening, so don't know the happenings of the park. Did not use any restroom facilities as we had full hookup.

On our day for leaving, we went to dump, pulling the levers on our rig as usual. All of our black water backed up and spewed everywhere! We immediately tried stopping the flow but most of the damage had already been done. Sought management and finally help came to unplug the sewer line. Fortunately, I had put my water hoses off the ground when setting up. That almost never happens. The men who helped, knew no English, and laughed the whole time, pretty much making us feel like idiots!
I went to the manager, asked for a partial refund and he said he would have the owner call me. I asked a few times while we were there, and then tried to teach the owner when we were once again on the road--to no avail.
Due to overflowing sewage, rudeness in the laughter, and the owner not having the decency to at least call, we will NEVER stay at the Candlestick RV Park in San Francisco, ever again. We will RV to SF again and go out west (this was our second time) but by-pass this park.
I have the rating two stars rather than one star because it was fairly clean within the park, asphalted, and management did come to the rescue, a little.
