Jason

For Los Alamos Campground: For where this site is and price i give it 5 starts. Bathrooms were super clean with nice toilet paper! dump site is Free. potable water, no hookup but just $20 a nite. if i bring my boat its $10 extra to park. Stayed at super level site 14. Freeway noise late at night almost non existent as traffic was so light. Stinging nettles and thorns will get your feet / pets so caution with sandals.

Wandering Sandals

For Los Alamos Campground: We stayed at Los Alamos Campground at $20/night. Dry desert landscape, dusty when windy, pesky sticklers, cement picnic table, square fire pit, convenient scattered spigots, clean and functional restroom (sink & flush toilet), scattered trash receptacles and couple of large trash receptacles at the loop exit. $9 dump station for non-registered camper at the exit. Not enough shade from mid day in summer, but warming ray is much welcome in colder seasons. Very quiet at night; no crickets, no road noise, no trains... nothing! From the south CA, GPS guides us to the campground through Hungry Valley SVR and that was a big mistake. Faster and smoother way is exit at Smokey Bear (from I-5), left on Pyramid Lake, right on Hard Luck which connects to Alamos Campground 2 miles down the road. WiFi? You are joking right? 2 bars LTE keeping us connect. No OTA digital TV signals. Love the solitude feel of the campground. Very safe due to present of occasional CHIPs. Only attraction here is off-roading at Hungry Valley. Nice stop over, but may not come back due to massive sticklers bothering our pooch and not much to see.

DiCo

For Los Alamos Campground: Surprisingly great little stop. We were just going to stop here for a night and stayed a couple days here. Big, level sites, great hiking trails, clean dump station, hardly any freeway noise, and only a couple other campers here. Bunnies and quail everywhere.

Reefisher

For Los Alamos Campground: Nice large site. Great place to stop along the mess they call Interstate 5. No hook ups but water is scattered around. Fill up before setting up camp. Huge problem when we stopped in Sept 2016. Black flies with incredibly nasty bites and welts that lasted for two weeks.

2dogsonboard

For Los Alamos Campground: I loved this park, quick stay as a stopover headed cross country. It's close to freeway just around a bend which hides the freeway from sight (and sound). There was only one other camper there and the host was super nice. Great place to get a hike in after a long day behind the wheel. Had the park been packed it may have seemed a little crowded but it was empty.
