For Eagles Nest RV Park: This park is a bit rough around the edges but certainly adequate for our needs...and very reasonable $$. The hookup services were fine...we paid $9 for 3 days of electricity. The spaces are level and decently spaced. We were in #20 which was next to a large grassy area...made for privacy and a pleasant view. There is no laundry and is never likely to be one, I didn't use any bathroom or showers facilities so have no opinion. The service that sets this remotely located park apart is the incredible WiFi. Not only did we have a consistently strong signal, our phones worked off it too...there being no AT&T reception. The owner is a former IT pro and it shows...he’s set it up so every space gets a strong signal no matter how far from the source. The proximity to the lava beds and petroglyphs is good. I’d stay here again.

For Eagles Nest RV Park: I have to give Eagle's Nest RV Park the lowest rating although we like the RV park itself. Here's what happened.

The place and services were similar to what other reviewers said. We were originally going to stay for 3 nights, but we liked the quietness and the remote location so much that I told the owner after the second night that we would be there for a week. On the day we checked out after being there for 7 nights, the owner came to read the power meter (the site fee doesn't include electricity). He said the cost of the electricity for our 7 days of stay was $245. Yes, $245. He said we used 1,226 kWh of electricity. They charged $0.20/kWh. My husband was trying to tell him that it's impossible that we used that much. We have stayed in other RV parks and our average monthly electricity usage had been about $120 per month, NOT week. This 1,226 kWh for 7 days in fact was more than what is theoretically possible. The electricity at the pole was 50 amp of 120 V, so the maximum power we could draw in an hour would be 50 x 120 = 6000 Wh = 6 kWh. That is 144 kWh per day or 1,008 kWh in 7 days [bad] UMING we used all the electricity supplied by the pole 24/7 for a whole week. So there was no way we could have used 1,226 kWh in 7 days. Yes, we used lighting, AC, washer/dryer, and cooking...everything you expect from living in a motorhome. But to say that the metered power that we used was more than what possible and 8 times more than our normal usage is absurd. The owner didn't even consider that there's a mistake here. It's all about there's something wrong with our motorhome that make it suck that much power. He himself said that the power meter at the site is not owned by the utility company so they won't come out to check it. I think the park's owner is responsible for using accurate meter and not try to make a profit from overcharging for electricity...to put it very kindly.

To add insult to the injury, instead of honoring a weekly rate $125/week for the same site we were in, we were charged the daily rate ($28) for all 7 days. At that point we didn't even bother pointing it out that we should have received a week rate. They clearly need the money more than we do.

I have been pick-pocketed before and this felt worse. As much as I like this park, I can't recommend it to anyone. We certainly won't come back.

Updated review:

About 4 weeks after leaving Eagle's Nest RV Park, the owner of the park called to let us know that he noticed that the power meter of the site we stayed in had malfunctioned. He apologized for what happened and refunded the electricity charge to us. He said he will replace the malfunctioning meter. I think this was an appropriate course of action to resolve this issue, therefore, I have updated my rating of the park.

For Eagles Nest RV Park: Ok place. Sign says pick a spot and the owner will come to you to register you. We picked a spot and owner came right over to record the electricity meter. Had to find him in the morning to have him come read meter again so we could pay fee plus electricity use and leave. Place has nice green grass for RV spots but everything else is pretty dry. Only a few long term residents and a very quiet out of the way place. Ok place for a one night stay.

For Eagles Nest RV Park: Clean, quiet and very nice place to stay. We stayed here in the off season. Wifi reaches the sites which was nice. Very pleasant stay here.
