Maximus

For Cottonwood - Joshua Tree National Park: Overall, a nice campground that offers many pull-through sites and flushing toilets. Would recommend Loop B because of its closer proximity to the picturesque rock formations. Personally, I found the most visually stunning parts of the park farther north, closer to the Twenty Nine Palms entrance. Plan on a ~ 40 minute drive to the cities to the west (Coachella, Indio, etc.) There are two truck stops (TA and Love’s) in Coachella that offer hot showers for a fee.

Darleen

For Cottonwood - Joshua Tree National Park: This end of the park is 40 minutes from the Joshua trees but beautifully quiet with a couple linked hikes that we really enjoyed. Pull throughs are really just “ pull offs” beside the road. We were able to get far enough off at site A9 and put out cones beside our 28 ft. No slide trailer. Our “yard”on the door side was very private and large. You can’t bicycle on any of the trails and were told twice at the Visitor Centrethat the dirt roads would be too sandy. But, we rode 8 miles out a dirt road right across from the visitor Centre on a fairly level dirt road to Pinkham Canyon. Not much for scenery but certainly rideable right from our campsite by two 70 year olds with 3 inch tire bikes. I wished we could have reserved for longer. Dry camping with flush toilets.

Heidi

For Cottonwood - Joshua Tree National Park: Campground surrounded by stunning beauty. Peaceful and quiet if that’s what you’re looking for, come here! No WiFi, no hook ups, has running water, bathrooms (didn’t use)and dump. Our first night was walk up, and the other 3 nights had to be reserved online. There is WiFi 3.5 miles from the camp which is where we went to make reservations. We had a slight issue with the camp host, regarding a miscommunication with the gov. reservation system, hence the 4 stars.

Dakotah

For Cottonwood - Joshua Tree National Park: Standard NP campground and facilities.
No showers, but restrooms were clean.
Not many level sites or sites for larger rigs.
The park just went to a reservation system for this CG, so book ahead since the staff will probably say it's full even though it may not be.
We liked Jumbo Rocks in the north part of Joshua Tree better although it was essentially dry camping?.

Tent-couple

For Cottonwood - Joshua Tree National Park: Scenic campground with many pretty sites looking outward over mountains and valleys. Can be very windy at night--gusts of 40 mph when we stayed in March. Running water and flush toilets but no showers. Camp staff may say campground is full even when it is not, so drive around and check for yourself if arriving before noon.
