For Pinto Lake RV Park: We stayed at Pinto Lake RV Park in our 28’ TT from 02/18-02/21 for President’s Weekend. The park is run by the City of Watsonville and is bordered by the lake, farm land and a suburb. There are 28 FHU, back-in spaces with 30 amp electric. We stayed in the end space, #28 which is next to the baseball field. The sites are close, but not too close. All sites are on grass and mostly level. Probably half the spaces are long term residents. Checking in is simple and the staff are friendly. They give you a key to get in and out of the front gate after hours with a $25 deposit. There is no WiFi. I even checked with staff and they said there has never been wifi. Over air tv stations are plentiful, no cable Hookups. No campfires, even if they’re propane. No showers, but there are bathrooms. There are no picnic tables at the campsites. The kids play structure has been removed, now it’s just a sand pit. There is plenty of fishing areas, a basketball court, volleyball court and a baseball field. There’s a boat launch and 2 docks. Plenty of ducks and geese everywhere. Dogs are allowed on-leash. There is a dump station near the front. Within 20 minutes of setting up camp, an RV was leaving the RV park and was at the dump station when 3 Sheriff’s undercover cars swooped in and arrested all the occupants for drug dealing. Fun to watch real life “Cops” from my camp chair, but it made me question the clientele of the RV park. Spoke to the deputies and they said it’s not a common occurrence at the RV park. There’s a Safeway, Rite Aid and multiple gas stations within a mile of the park. Pinto Lake RV Park is 30 minutes away from Monterey and 30 minutes away from Santa Cruz. We used it as a home base while we went to both locations throughout the weekend. The price is right for FHU in the area, but with no amenities, it’s only really good for a home base while visiting other nearby destinations.

For Pinto Lake RV Park: We stayed here in a trailer, in January, during a storm, when all the coastal state parks in Santa Cruz district were closed! We've lived in Watsonville for 30 years, and never noticed there was an RV park here, even though we brought our sons here to play. It's quiet, reasonable, with old, publicly shared facilities, but clean. The campground hostess is very sweet, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. There are not any showers, nor laundry facilities on site. It was a pleasant port in a storm!

Pat

For Pinto Lake RV Park: Great little place that is very close to everything we wanted to do. The manager was very helpful and kind. The spaces are close but are on grass so that made it nice and clean. Unfortunately, the lake was closed due to algae blooms but was still very pretty. Our rate was adjusted down due to this closure. We felt safe and secure there and met some great people camping around us. Everyone was very respectful and quiet times were observed. We will definitely go back.

For Pinto Lake RV Park: Nice place to stay. Close to everything in Watsonville. Monterey and Santa Cruz are a short drive.

Fairly level grass sites but very close together. We travel in a 40 foot class A with triple slides and fortunately our next door neighbors had no slides as we would be almost touching.

Lake is catch and release and no swimming. There were numerous people trying their luck fishing. Did not get a chance to check out laundry room and showers.

For Pinto Lake RV Park: Beautiful and quiet little park. Gorgeous sunset over the lake. Many birds and waterfowl near the lake. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great local produce nearby at farmers markets. We'll stay here again.

For Pinto Lake RV Park: We just left Pinto Lake this morning. We only stayed one night as we were on to other places. We would definitely recommend it to others looking to stay in this area. We travel in a 45' motorhome so Site 28 was perfect for us. We were visiting with friends in the area and they didn't even know it existed! Patricia's directions were perfect and she welcomed us warmly. A lovely, quiet spot. Thanks!
