SMD

For Meadow Ridge Campground: Unlike all the other Forest Service campgrounds that we have stayed in, this campground provided no privacy between sites inside the loop. The campsites on the outside did have some privacy provided by trees. We stayed on weekdays in August but it seemed like college Spring break was happening at the campground. The camp host did nothing to enforce the quiet hours. We had to explain the Colorado marijuana laws to our young kids because that’s all we could smell every evening and on some mornings. The road to the campground is extremely rough. I would not go back to this campground.

Stumpjumper

For Meadow Ridge Campground: Beautiful location. Can walk down a short but very steep trail to the lake. Two mile drive to dam and boat ramp. Reservations are a must, especially if you plan on staying over the weekend. Lots of water available, but cannot attach a hose (no fitting) to fill your tank.

Toilets are fairly well maintained (i.e. clean, with toilet paper). Seems to depending on the campsite host at the time.

Great 13mi trail for walking or mountain biking around the lake.

6 miles down 303 to two overlook sites.

No cell (Verizon) coverage except at some locations on roads into camp sites.

Skip42

For Meadow Ridge Campground: Rough road going in. Once you are there, it is great. Fishing is good and hiking was nice too. Gets busy so make res if you can.
