For Chief Hosa Campground: Lots of road noise from the nearby highway. RV sites were nothing more than a gravel parking space. No campfires allowed. No place for the kids to safely run around, play or ride their bikes. The rules sheet states no alcohol over 3.2% allowed. We stayed one night, then went up to the mountains, which was much more enjoyable.

For Chief Hosa Campground: Start with positive. Clean bathrooms, surrounded by park with trails, convenient to I-70. On the flip side campground seemed more geared to the tenting tie-dyed crowd. There had been a crowd there to go to a concert at Red Rocks. As we heard from others, when things got noisy at 3 am the parks position was for us the camper to call 911. I guess I'm too old and conservative preferring a campground with quiet hours managed by the park staff. RV sites not mowed (grass 3-4 ft high) where tenting sites had nice clean mowed buffer area. When we asked about mowing the reply was 'keeping it in its natural state' or something along those lines. Picnic tables great place to get splinters. Had reserved a week and left after 2 nights probably forfeiting $150 and great inconvenience since we had scheduled events in Denver which got goofed up. Got very vague email after I left that my permit was canceled. We all knew that. I told them before leaving. When I replied asking if any refund got nothing. I was leery about using a city park campground before where probably low on city priority list. Oh and to top it off, $25 dump fee. Errrr. Will not return. Plenty of nicer places not that far away.

For Chief Hosa Campground: Beautiful setting, pine trees provide plenty of shade, clean and pretty well kept. Friendly staff... On a negative, there is a constant white noise from a nearby highway and very slow Internet. Still, I enjoyed my stay here in a motorhome.
