For Gold Park Campground: I loved this campground! It is small and very quiet. A small river runs behind half of the campsites. Number 12 is one of the best sites to be in. I was there on a Sunday and there were only five other sites filled. I did not make a reservation. The camp host, Gary, was very nice and helpful. There was plenty of firewood to buy. There was only one set of vault toilets but it was enough for that small of a campsite. The only concerns I had were that the dirt road to the campsite which was 6.8 miles was very very bumpy! Also there was no cell service. I am a woman traveling alone and it was very disconcerting to know that if anything happened nobody could be reached. The camp host had no way of even reaching a forest ranger if there was an emergency. But knowing that I would still go there in the future. I would just make sure someone knew I was there and could not be reached. There are a few hiking trails but they are steep. Also there are food lockers to prevent bears from getting your food but apparently there have been no bear sightings in about a year. I used the locker anyway just in case.

For Gold Park Campground: Hidden gem located 7 miles down a well-maintained dirt road that has scenic views all around. We were shocked to find on,y half the campsites full on a Saturday. We selected site 12, a large site along the rushing creek. The camp host was very helpful and has firewood for sale. The toilets were the cleanest we've seen. Bring your own water or purify water from the creek. The only downfall is we couldn't stay longer. This is definitely amongst our favorite campgrounds now.
