For Manatee Cove Campground: The camp sites and base are very clean and neat however access to the base is a hassle. You have to use a commercial entrance that is limited to daylight hours. We have a class C and don’t tow a vehicle with us so whenever we explore we use the motor home as our means to transportation. We checked in a day ago and set off to explore today, upon our return we were not allowed on the base since it was past dusk. We ended up having to sleep in a overflow lot across from the base until sunlight. It was stated they didn’t want RVs coming in after dark and hitting anything when backing up? I think this would site work well if you towed a trailer, had a toad or didn’t mind the curfew.

For Manatee Cove Campground: We came before Thanksgiving and stayed through April. During Covid. We love, love it here. Weather just fine. Friendly people and hosts. Rules generally enforced. Air show while we were here plus several rocket launches easily watched without driving anywhere. Fabulous sunsets. Lots of wildlife, even Wally, the gater, over by the runway. Manatees, ospreys, bunnies. Good $ and want to come back. Only negative: awful mosquitoes and noseeums occasionally.

For Manatee Cove Campground: Didn't get a chance to stay at this Famcamp, but it must be great. In the winter time name should probably change from Patrick AFB Famcamp to Military Retiree Village. Can't blame anyone up north trying to come south to stay warm. Famcamp at a local AFB in our area is always full in the fall and winter months. From what we've seen this is a very clean park. Hope to stay later in the year when the temperatures change to a bit warmer, might have room then.

For Manatee Cove Campground: This is a great campground, clean grounds and friendly people and friendly host. Lots are not that tight but roads are narrow, there is a patio and grass area between them. The mosquitos are bad and lots of stickers in what they call grass. My biggest complaint is the office hours and limited mail pickup hours. Every where but here the office is staffed 6-7 days a week, host on weekends with mail pickup anytime...this is the the only reason I’m not giving a 5 star.

For Manatee Cove Campground: Spots on the Banana River awesome. Great RV park on base with full use of base amenities such as Gym, bowling alley, golf course, marina. Equipment checkout and beach across the street very convenient. You can also eat in the chow hall!!!! Great East Coast stop if heading to the Keys or if you want to visit Cape Canaveral.

AWAY WE GO
For Manatee Cove Campground: All good. A little snug but we’ve been in tighter spots (Nellis AFB). Clean facilities. Friendly staff. If you plan to stay long term plan far enough out to get your spot.
It is first come and one rep told us it was full for the foreseeable future. The other told us to come by and he will likely be able to give us several days which was all we needed. If not for the first guy blowing us off, we’d give it a solid 5.

For Manatee Cove Campground: Water front and full hook up for $30 a night. Luckily for us, we ignored the review from Angela and checked in this beautiful gem. The was very nice and thorough. Within an hour of our arrival, other campers invited us for cake at the lobby, and others came out and helped me dislodge my motorcycle from the sand (I got it stuck in the sand while unloading it from our toyhauler). Again, $30 a night for full hook up water front and all the amenities of Patrick AFB

For Manatee Cove Campground: Camp sites are very close together and all are in direct sun except for maybe 4. The camp hosts are not friendly and if you are not in the “good ole boys†club they will harass you with every turn. The playground sits on the outside of the campground and the commissary and exchange are on the other side of the base as well as the 24 hour gate. Takes about 20 min to get through the base once you get in the gate. The common area is nice and offers a small library, cable TV, pool room, free ice(although don’t get caught taking free ice or the hosts harass you), video games, WiFi and a full kitchen. Two shower buildings and a dog run. The laundry is nice but hot without AC and offers 4 dryers and 5 washers(.75) per load.

For Manatee Cove Campground: Very nice campground. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset over the Banana River every night of our stay. Park is clean, quiet & camp hosts were kind & professional. Easy to get to everything & loved the air activity of being on an AFB. Full hook-ups are ALWAYS nice! Expect to follow the rules. We motorcycle & bike so helmets are a must. It was a little bit confusing because we had our cycle in a small trailer that takes up less room than a car but had to off load cycle & take the trailer across base to the marina even though there were two other trailers at Chevron Park & car dollies in the Park. It was a hassle to drive into the marina with a 40' RV. There is plenty of space by the park so it would be really nice if they would make a spot for ALL trailers nearby. Trailer policy needs to be clarified - either good for all or good for none. Otherwise this was a wonderful place to camp. Even though my husband impressed everyone at the main gates with his driving skills I highly recommend you go to the truck gate which really isn't marked all that well & your GPS won't take you to it, call the campground & get instructions on where to come in - you'll be glad you did!

Melody
For Manatee Cove Campground: The campground is very clean and well laid out. Each site is on a concrete slab and has a colorful patio set. All hookups worked fine. There is a rec room and lots of books to choose from. A laundry room has 5 washers and 6 dryers that were all working. This is a popular snowbird retreat but since we were here in the off season, about 3/4's of the campground was empty. There was no wifi at the campsite. The mosquitos were ferocious and the grass needed cutting.
