JamuJoe

For Sunset King Lake Resort: To be clear, this is a neat village of older residents in nice RV’s, and I did not see many vacant sites for transients. It’s 10 miles from I-10. The sites are tight on the port (utility) side, but offer space and concrete patios on the starboard side. There is nice landscaping and all is neat and clean. There is even a picturesque chapel. We did not use the pool etc., as we were just passing thru during COVID.

Six for the King

For Sunset King Lake Resort: Very well kept campground with cement patios and ornamental trees at each campsite. The bathroom/showers were very large and well kept. My kids noticed there were no young families here, mainly retirees but most all were friendly. Some sites are permanent homes/trailers/rvs and vary in degrees of aesthetics. Due to pool issues we left earlier than our reservations; however, the staff was very nice and understood. Hopefully, the pool will be up again quickly. My kids were not thrilled with the area but I thought it was quite nice.

Brandy

For Sunset King Lake Resort: Very disappointed. Drove 2 hrs to camp for spring break with husband, 2 kids and 2 nephews. Actual campsite not at all what website pictures show. Although clean, too tight of campsites, no privacy, did not see any kids only retired folks, and made us feel like we were at a mobile home park, due to actual mobile trailers mixed in with campers that were for sale. Beach 1 hr away, and no campsites available near lake. Customer service ok at first, but when informed staff we were not staying, still charged us for a night, and was very rude about it. Would only recommend this place for retired people.

Kkayr

For Sunset King Lake Resort: Friendly staff, nice sites with a cement patio. Internet was down due to a recent storm but office staff was working hard with supplier to get to bottom of problem. Satellite friendly. Beautiful setting by a small lake. Evident that staff works hard to keep the entire area neat and tidy. There is a pool and hot tub, but we did not use it. A pleasant place for one or more nights.
