For Midway - Big Cypress National: Nice campground. Nice to have electric to run ac on hot days. Bathrooms ok. No showers but we use our trailer anyway. You have to go to visitor center to see all the alligators and take a ride on turner river road to see lots more. 2nd time here and we’ll come back if in area

For Midway - Big Cypress National: Great little park - even has its own alligator and bugs - only issue is cell service but we knew that going in - main road is busy at times but the park was quiet and we had it to ourselves for one to two other rvers now and then - we will be back and not in summer when we need the air - lol.

For Midway - Big Cypress National: Super neat campground. We arrived late in the day (end of April) without a reservation but there were several FCFS sites. Electric hookup was nice. We didn’t mind no cell service because.....we’re on vacation! We did see a 5 ft alligator strolling past our site and they are in the lake. Overall an excellent NPS campground.

For Midway - Big Cypress National: We’d give this cg 4 stars for neat, spacious sites - but 2 for location and poor cell coverage. Sites are a good size, especially 13 and 14 which are at the ends of the left and right side rows. Not all sites have fire pits, although the camp hosts said the NPS is working on replacing the bbq grills with fire pits. Midway is one of the few NPS cg’s with electric sites, which can be important when it’s warm! We stayed over Christmas for 10 days, plenty of warm weather, and PLENTY of evening mosquitos to go along with it. We were safe in our Clam screenhouse but trying to get from the Clam into the camper had us looking like we were doing some kind of weird rain dance. In 2020, the entire area around the CG was flooded from late season rains, with nearby Shark Valley being completely closed. Only bike or walking trails are essentially on the narrow shoulder of the Tamiami Trail, where traffic goes screaming past you - so if that’s not your thing, you may find yourself doing many laps of the 1/3rd mile campground loop. VERY poor cell coverage - Christmas Day saw most of the rvers from Midway driving 8 miles west to a dry NPS campground and parking in front of a cell tower to make calls to family/friends. Also be aware you are pretty much “midway” between the coasts here - so anything you need to go buy is a long round trip. Come prepared! All in all, our stay here was ‘fine’, but we would not choose it again for more than an overnight.

Chris

For Midway - Big Cypress National: Nice remote place very well located. No wifi and very poor signal but that wasn’t a pb. Small campground with view on the pound. Watch out at night, there are alligators and snake, and that’s why We choose this site.

Cato

For Midway - Big Cypress National: Only negatives were lack of shade, multitudes of tiny bugs and poor cell service. Otherwise we had a good stay here. Feels remote and a great location for exploring the Everglades. Very good camp hosts.

Jackie

For Midway - Big Cypress National: Very nice. Clean, well maintained sites. Pleasant for a short stay. Very poor cell service if that’s important to you. Bathrooms ok. No showers. Would recommend.
