For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: Most lots are a good size. Lots aren’t assigned, just take what’s empty. Check in is 3pm but folks arrive at 11am to get good spots. Great location on the bay.

For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: Great park. Beach is ten min drive. Bay beach on property with boat beaching area, several modern playgrounds. Great place to spend the day or the week. Lots of trails to walk and easy driving access to Corey station Commissary and PX, about a 15 min drive. Staff is so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the rental trailers. Very clean and has all the basics. Fishing, boat ramp, beach, disc golf galore, wildlife viewing, quiet, and VERY reasonable prices. Will visit again and again! Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because some areas of the park are outdated and could be updated, such as the boating areas and mini golf course.

For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: We just got turned down by them as we were going to camp in our tiny house on the back of my pickup truck. I guess they want only RV made by recognizable manufacturers. I was even going to try to park in the primitive camping area too. Have had no problems camping at Gulf Shores State Park, Myrtle Brach State Parks, or any private or public park throughout Indiana or Michigan. I expected this from parks that call themselves resorts or have year mfg date restrictions but not from a military base that allows tent camping and has primative camping area. We were going to stay here back in 2019 but found Gulf Shores to be a better park. This time it was about bringing our new boat with us and using the marina. I guess these full timers run the park and want this resort feeling.

Mac

For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: Stayed in Anchor Cove, the more basic of the areas that doesn’t have on-site sewer. I knew this when I reserved it. We stayed right across from the bay. They have a convenient bathhouse and “blue boy” dump stations. Everything is as clean and well-maintained as a place can be when sand is everywhere. It’s quiet and we observed wildlife both in the water and on land. A great place to stay.

Stephanie Johnson

For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: There are 2 campgrounds at this Recreation Area. The Battleship Row is a 5 star RV Resort and is everything you could want in a RV park. Anchor Cove is the complete opposite - it’s a dump. It looks neglected, no maintenance in recent months and even the camp host site looks like a hobo lives there. The roads in and out of the park are ROUGH with significant holes in the road. The mini golf course that looks so inviting on the website is in complete disrepair. If you can get into Battleship Row great! If not, keeping looking...Anchor Cove is a HUGE disappointment. When you think of the Blue Angels you conjur up images of precision, excellence, high standards. This park does not live up to Navy standards, not even close to Blue Angels standards. I hope they devote some time and money to make this campgrounds we can all be proud of.

For Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area: Great campground! $28 for full hookup, pull through site. Some sites are next to the water. Would stay again!! Stayed 3 nights in Jan 2021 with our 40' fifth wheel.
