Terry

For Red Top Mountain State Park: Very nice, big and well maintained state park with several easy hiking trails. Four nice bath/shower buildings that were built about early 2022, two of them had laundry and all were very clean. The park appears to have had a lot of updates throughout. Our site had cable connection but not great channels choices. Free digital tv was better picture and more choices. Only one bar LTE ATT cell signal. They have Wi-Fi for $9 per day. I-75 traffic noise and evening trains are a constant distraction especially during AM/PM rush hours. They have two nice dump stations but the rinse water line doesnt have a threaded hose connection to flush out the tank. Biggest problem with this campground is all the rv/trailer sites face the wrong way so you are looking at the road or neighbors rather than lake or woods. All sites also need at least 4-6 inches of extra leveling help and none of them have a separate tent pad. Just enough room for a trailer and tow vehicle. I saw an A class with front wheels 6 inches off the ground. There appeared to be 3 seperate camp hosts but I didnt see much activity from any of them. Their parking pad was the most level in the park. Narrow curvy roads getting to the park and equally curvy and narrow inside the campground.

Ranger Rod

For Red Top Mountain State Park: I stayed here one night at the end of March and really enjoyed it. Yes, the road is tight and some sites have steep slopes to back down into, but the lakeviews among the huge pines were spectacular. The campground was undergoing major maintenance for some needed TLC and I believe this will be a 5 once complete. The camp hosts were very helpful. Don’t miss the 4 mile iron hill trail for mountain biking, it was a lot of fun. I had 2-3 bars for Verizon and was able to work just fine including zoom calls. God willing, hope to come back someday to spend more time exploring.

Eric

For Red Top Mountain State Park: We had a spectacular view of the lake from a high campsite that was terrifying to back down into and set up. Not for the faint of heart. Site was not level. No idea where the bathrooms were so can’t comment. Roads up are very narrow. It was beautiful. There was a dump at the campsite but the the angle made it too difficult to use. My class B+ made the site ok but if you have a class A this park is a challenge. The hiking here is very good.

Tina

For Red Top Mountain State Park: We had site 24, with a 32’ 5th wheel, horrible to back in and saw several back-in with the same situation. Big drop offs once you leave the pavement and roads are tight. Over our 3 day stay, I’m pretty sure bathrooms were not clean. Saw the same “garbage” on the floor all 3 days. No view at site 24, other than the rest room. Would not stay here again.

Goad Country

For Red Top Mountain State Park: The pull through campsites are very nice and level. Also it is very clean. The new visitor center is really great! The staff here is always friendly! (This is our second stay, after driving through the other camping loops, we decided only pull throughs for us. The reason being is the roads on the other loops were very narrow with tight turns and a lot of low branches.)

fastbunnie

For Red Top Mountain State Park: Park is beautiful, campground site some cells could use some repair some of them are dangerous washed out etc. Comfort stations absolutely gross, in need of extreme repair, mold growth, bugs, dirty. If you have access to your own shower in your camper use it. If your tent camper or don’t have access to a shower make sure you take a canna Lysol with you and where shoes.

Sachmo

For Red Top Mountain State Park: Nice forested campground. We stayed at a pull through site which was very spacious. Concrete picnic tables and well set up fire rings and cook places. Roads to and throughout the park were a little narrow.
