For Lotts Island Army Airfield: Small campground on the South side of Hunter Army Airfield. 16 sites with FHU. We called ahead to see if early check in was possible. We were told we couldn’t check in prior to 2 PM but we could wait at the pavilion area. We drove through the campground to check out our assigned site only to find a mud pit. They were able to move us. Staff was kind and helpful. The whole facility needs work.

For Lotts Island Army Airfield: This is a very basic campground with no facilities. It’s noisy during the week due to work trucks on the road nearby. I give it five stars because the campground host was very helpful when we had a power issue. No fault of the power pole. We just had to figure out where our breaker box was and he stayed with us until we could find it via YouTube. He’s a good guy and takes good care of the place.

For Lotts Island Army Airfield: Not quiet, but spacious, with a gorgeous dock/water front park walking distance away. 2nd stay with no issues. Love being on base with all the safety & military amenities. They even called to warn us about the impending weather.

For Lotts Island Army Airfield: Nice quiet level shaded site. Only 15 sites just within gate. Gentlemen mowing was very respectful with regards to who was in their camper and who was not. Horse flies were tenacious when walking our dog. Base golf course was inexpensive, but needed some help. Very close to Savannah. Price was right.

For Lotts Island Army Airfield: The camp host (Nathan)called the MPs and lied on us. Three MP cars show up banging on our door and telling us we’re trespassing. We showed them our paperwork work and called the office on speakerphone to confirm we belonged on our RV site and the MPs left us alone without incident. The MPs and the front office both confirmed that the camp host called the MPs. The worst part of it all is that the camp host never attempted to contact us or knock on our RV door not once did he say anything to us. This was very disappointing and puzzling. The office and all other staff were pleasant and professional. The RV sites were laid out spacious and convenient. The grass was only cut once in our one month stay which by the way is the camp host responsibility. When we first arrived we asked the camp host about the extremely tall grass and he responded I am a volunteer but everyone else are paid employees.
