Hinton the Trail

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Beautiful location outside of Atlanta. The Stone Mountain Park has lots to do and was a big surprise for us. We came for Atlanta and ended up spending hours in the park and around Stone Mountain. The RV park itself if set in the woods by a lake and offers great views. The customer service is touch and go but sometimes you can overlook that when your campsite overlooks some great scenery. There is a $20 parking fee to get in the park which is dumb considering you’re going to be parking overnight and paying a fee for your site. It’s a one time deal but still needs to be waived with a reservation number. Many of the sites are not level and need some maintenance. The bathrooms and shower stalls are very clean but again, need maintenance and some updating. WiFi here is terrible but it was only for 4 nights so life moves on...but for the price it should be better. Bottom line, the only reason this gets 4 stars is the location. Quiet woods near a lake.

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: We stayed there two days and nights. Beautiful area nice sites, roads in campground are in terrible shape. I agree with the other reviews about the roads, bathrooms, shower houses. Need lots of updates. The $20.00 entrance fee is a crock!! Very over priced for the conditions of the campground. Also if you camp before Memorial Day, during the week days a lot of the attractions are closed, only open on weekends. G.B. from Ohio

Jim

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Stayed here for one night while passing though. Very pretty setting, even for December. I think the price is too expensive for the conditions. The roads are really deteriorating, the bath house needs a Reno very bad, Tho it seemed to be clean. Just picture rusty divider walls and some broken tiles from the 1970’s. The laundry area did have new washers and dryers. The $20 pay to park is a crock, and simply adds $20 to the cost. So for a lakefront space with a nice view you are looking at $53 for the slip and $20 to get inside the park = $73 (December). Would we return? Sure! But I would love to see some improvements and actual upgrades. 40’ diesel pusher fits around the park but a lot of spaces look short!

Dan M

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Loved the campground. Considering what it it is, it had the true campground feel. Stayed in a spot with a lake view and truly enjoyed the view. Stone Mountain attractions were a blast for the kids albeit somewhat $$. Initially planned 2 days for activities but trimmed to 1. To the gondola to the top of the Mtn, hiked down the trail, spent the day at the park and did the laser show. Didn’t think there was much else to do to warrant a second day since we’re on a cross country move. Plenty of trails etc near the attractions but not much in that way at the campground. Not much access to recreation at the campground hence 4 vs 4 stars. Would stay here again.

Gone With the Woods

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: Stayed several nights in late Feb. Beautiful park. Sites are not level! Roads in the park are narrow and windy! Be mindful while pulling in and out of your site!

Yellow rose

For Stone Mountain Park Family Campground: We enjoyed this campground. Stayed in a class A. This campground is all about location. We chose a site with a deck and grill which provided more space and privacy. Sites are gravel. The scenery was awesome. Shuttle service to Stone Mountain. No designated dog area but ok because lots of trails. Wished people would pick up after dogs. Poor customer service.
