For Timberline Campground: Cannot say enough good things about these people. We have family nearby and haves stayed for extended periods on two occasions. If you are looking for an “RV Resort”, this is not your place. If your looking for a quiet, safe place to park WITH AN AMAZING STAFF, then this is your place. The only weakness is the driveways. They can be dusty when dry, and a little sloppy when wet. But, each site has a grassy area. The sites are pretty level and have plenty of space. Once again - this is the most kind and helpful park staff I have encountered.

A happy camper

For Timberline Campground: The old part has beautiful trees but very small sites. Our neighbors awning touched our slide. The wi fi was useless and the same with cell service. the bathrooms were being redone and there was only portable potties(.unless you wanted to walk a couple of blocks) Pool not open. The roads are gravel and it very dusty. But the worst was it is right next to a gun range, Shooting All day long everyday.

Tom

For Timberline Campground: We’ve traveled all over the US and Canada and this is the worst RV Park we’ve ever stayed at. Perhaps if you stayed in the newer section it might be a bit better although you’re still in a “parking lot” with no trees. We were in the older section and we could barely get our slides out. The family next to us had to eat right next to our sewer and their picnic table was actually under our bed slide - that’s how close the sites were. And to make matters worse we woke up to extremely loud gunfire as there was a shooting range right next to us. Also if you’re interested in a pool the pool was closed and there are no bathrooms. You had to use a porta potty if you needed a bathroom outside of your RV. $65 a night was a ridiculous price for what you get here. We will not be back.

Fritz

For Timberline Campground: A total train wreck. Site uneven mud grass and gravel. Forget the Wi-Fi a joke. Cell service poor, OTA not functional. Didn’t use restrooms. Newer section might be better but we won’t be back to test out that theory! We camped in a TT.

An update to prior review - OTA does work, sort of. A handful of channels are steady and viewable but most are unstable and unwatchable. Atmospheric conditions may explain the variations as some of the viewable channels come and go.

James Turner

For Timberline Campground: A nice campground. Nice shade trees. Gravel site, fairly level. The night we stayed there, it was crowded with lots of children in the pool. Probably as a consequence the rest rooms adjoining the pool were a mess. One of the soap dispensers was out of soap and one of the stalls out of toilet paper. Staff slow to respond.

Reohawk

For Timberline Campground: Nice location for an overnight stop. There are several areas in CG; original, new, and newest. Some areas have more trees and space then others. The pool and showers were spotless. The youth enjoyed the playground and jumping pad. The grounds well kept. Cabins were very nice with a/c and heat. We were there for a family reunion of about 60 people with various cabin and RV set-ups. No complaints from our group and may return in the future (we try to go to different parts of the state each year). The STAFF BENT OVER BACKWARDS to make our visit enjoyable. The only concern may be the gun range next door if that bothers you; the noise only occurred for a short period twice while we were there over a 4 day weekend.

Angela

For Timberline Campground: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for a couple of weeks and Marta found us a spot with full hook-ups. It is very conveniently located to grocery stores, restaurants and the mall. The only con is that it is a gravel lot so it can sometimes be dusty from the park traffic. We will be staying here again the next time we visit Des Moines.
